on a bit of a tangent, do anyone except to try and follow Tata Steel when it starts? ... any expectations? IMO Magnus Carlsen will come out with at least a ELO-raise on his allready all time high rating ... and i wouldn't be surprised if he grabbed a top 3 spot in group A. Other than that i got a clue that Grandelius in group B would surprise quite a bit, hitting a good bit over his rating. His playstyle is quite interesting and he is still only 19yo

@waterbat: I think 9. .... Qxh5; 10. gxh8Q Qh4; might have given you some chances to continue the fight (maybe I'm overlooking something here )

Took a quick look at the game and the position in which waterbat resigned is almost equal according to my engines:

9. g7+ (black resigned) but should have played 9...Qxh5 and now a possible line is
10. gxh8Q Qh4
11. Nxe4 Qxe4+
12. Be2 Qxh1 (actually the computer thinks 12...Bf5 is even better but then it gets totally crazy for humans with neverending variations).

with a small advantage for White.

EDIT: Just one example of what the computer thinks the best line is after looking into it for 10 minutes:

12...Bf5 13.Nf3 dxc4 14.Rg1 0–0–0 15.Qf6 Be7 16.Qf7 Nb4 17.Kd1 c3 18.bxc3 Nd3 19.Bxd3 Qxf3+ 20.Ke1 Qxd3 21.Qxe7 Qe4+ 22.Kd1 Qa4+ 23.Ke1 Qe4+ 24.Kd1 Qa4+ 25.Ke1 Qe4+ and draw.

Lol. I was tilted after meaning to play 5...h6 and forgetting. I saw g5 and qh5 coming - just screwed up the move order.
