But I already confessed. I'm a Russian agent. smile

No need for agents when fools do the job for free ^^

Am I a fool for supporting Russia, the country I work for? What a strange notion of foolishness you have!

Just to clarify, I do believe my country is better off if the Eastern side of this conflict "wins". That is no joke. Is that a foolish opinion for me to have? twirl

Regardless, I always try to make an objective analysis of any situation, and you guys are making serious mistakes. Like, for instance, believing Putin's ego plays any part in this. It doesn't. Russia isn't trying to gain more territory for territory's sake either. It's not pure, simple expansionism that is driving all of this, and believing it is is a big mistake. There are material causes for what's going on. And what's more, if you think that believing so is a foolish thing, it's your loss.

There's no winning here. Russia will either lose by having Ukraine join NATO, or lose way harder by starting a war.

Oh boy, we have someone whose IP locates to Brazil creating a new account so they can revive a weeks-old discussion on a gaming forum in order to advocate for the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, where they apparently live. A truly fascinating nexus between "pathetic desperation" and "incipient shitshow".

My already extremely dim view of people who uncritically repeat Russian state media propaganda becomes even less charitable when they're starting a dialogue for the express purpose of spreading misinformation, particularly misinformation being used to generate justifications and political cover for the anticipated slaughter of thousands of people.

If your participation on RB does not extend beyond the regurgitation of tedious standard-issue Kremlin talking points in the Political Discussion forum, you're gone. This is still a gaming site, albeit one with an ill-advised and relatively recent minor politics component.

There's no winning for anyone, I agree, yet the conflict seems now almost a certainty. Such is the way of things, and one party might still come out on top in the end.

I'll pretend I didn't read the other piece of commentary above. For someone denoucing Kremlin misinformation, you sure have one big of a mouth. That's precisely the type of authoritarian attitude that is slowly corroding liberal Western values. But, hey, this is your forum, and if you don't like a peaceful discussion of ideas between open-minded people, no one can force you to put up with one. It's your prerrogative to be as authoritarian as you'd like.

To clarify, I am indeed from Brazil, am Brazilian, and I DON'T work for the Kremlin (did you really believe that? crazyeye ).
