3/8 Skeleton - Bolt 2
2/8 Rajiformes - Aqua Rake
2/8 Flaremancer - Flare
1/8 Zombie Dragon - Poison Breath
I believe there is one important difference, though. It is my understanding that the Oath summons do not scale with level, and instead have a fixed (and very low) multiplier.
One faq hints that this is because Oath is equivalent to Catch/Release for the four monsters in question, and for Release the caught monster counts as the attacker, and thus its magic multiplier rather than the player character's is used.

I just tested and verified the hypothesis. And that makes the Oath ability significantly less useful then, but the 1/8 chance of casting Flare should be enough to get you through until Bal Castle when you'll learn your first Dark Art. I'd be interested to see how this particular solo plays out, but I wouldn't want to try it myself.

Hmmm, seeing the list of solos here, i'm trying out the Mime Solo. Going to be quite an interesting run.
Edit: As usual, Karbalos is a huge roadblock. I'm having a fun time mimicing potions though, saves a lot of cash. I've already figured out a way to beat most bosses i think.
Editedit: Had a fun battle with him where we had a routine of
He: Tentacle - Tentacle - i recover - TailScrew - Mimic Elixir - Repeat for 5+ times.

Does anyone know what the formula is for ABP gained per battle? There are no values for ABP listed in the Algorithms FAQ, so I assume it's calculated from other numbers somehow, but I don't know how.

So is everyone going to take all the solos I haven't done already? You guys do know that there are other variants you can do, right?

Frankly, i don't think anyone would take the Mime Solo due to the fact that well, it isn't very interesting heh. More tedious than anything. Even the White Mage has more things to do.
But i guess i'm just playing it for the sake of playing it, and not for reporting it. My story writing skills aren't that great anyway. So go ahead and take it up later. (I don't think i even have the patience to finish this).

ABP is listed per encounter group (not per monster). Section 11.5.

Yeah but we want to see them and we can't sit around waiting for you to finish that berserker first. ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) More seriously, the solos are the best way to look deeply into the mechanics of each class. I do have one four-character variant waiting in mind; if you want the Necromancer for yourself, say so and I'll put it aside for that. Also I'm simply taking the power route with the Necromancer, with Oath and rod breaking fully on the table, leaving room for a more restricted necro if you like.

I think the Mime is somewhat interesting if you're new to solos. The standard stuff like rod breaking might not be all that interesting after you've done a dozen classes, but for a first time run it can be neat to see. Same idea as my Gladiator, which would've been nothing new for Sullla but played well for me.

Hey, anyone is free to do whatever they want. I will probably play through some of these solos regardless of whether anyone else does them or not. Also, there's a limit to how many hours per day even I'm willing to spend on Berserker Sandworm grinding/dying. ![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif) You'd probably also want to take a break periodically after your 500th death to the same boss.

You did say upthread that Final Fantasy 5 was to kill time while waiting for Diablo 3, so we've only got a year or so left to do all of the solos... :neenernee

Any FFV experts have any idea where any of the Groups with only Goblins (in 11.6, Monster Encounters, in the Algorithms FAQ) are located in the world? There are quite a few, and I wonder if they're placeholders. (3, 9, 31, 43, 48, 60, 79, 88, 93, 187, 188)
