RBP3: Joao of Inca [SPOILERS]

I would think so. We can't do much about archers...we should whip the axe at the capital...probably the one in kiwi town as well and the let the overflow complete the terraces.

Actually thinking about it we should head for the 2nd city. I think if we move our axe that's lagging behind 1NW and our 2axe 1 quecha stack 1W they shoudl stack on a mine. We coudl pillage that and then go to hit the 2nd city. We might be able to raze that...

I haven't logged in yet this turn so I'm just doing that from memory so if you guys see something better by all means lets hear it...

Darrell sent a message on gmail that he needs to "urgently talk to us". We should check that out asap - I'd do it myself if I didn't have to go.

Talking to him now, here's his proposal:

Quote:me: Hi there!
DJ: Ah...perfect
This is Darrel from India.
me: just pure luck!
DJ: So...where to begin.
me: here;s Nakor
DJ: As you probably guessed, we knew that you were going to attack the Aztecs before you attacked the Aztecs.
We had met them early in the game and they let us know based on the lack of NAP signing.
me: I guess most people knew our intentions looking at the score stats in civstats...
DJ: From what we can tell, they have secured some support from the outside and have whipped enough Archers where you won't be able to take them out. They seem to believe so anyway.
You don't have to confirm or deny that
This is pure info from me to you, at least up front.
Now, you had talked to us about tech trades and asked about alliances forming. There is an alliance forming.
Aztecs are in that alliance. We are in that alliance.
So, when you went after them they lost the ability to pull their own weight, which was bad for us.
That's okay, you didn't know and even if you did you still did what you thought was best for your civ.
However, I am thinking now you are going from a destroy to a choke strategy on the Aztecs
I know that slows them down. I think that will slow you down, your traits are made for settlers and fast terraces.
So, I've been doing some pretty serious diplo with the aztecs and the tech alliance
I am now acting as a third part to give you this offer:
If you are willing to make peace with the aztecs, they will hold no grudges into the future. As a carrot, I have been authorized to pull you into the alliance.
I cant give alliance details just yet, but I can assure you that you will benefit more than you can probably imagine by membership
Now, i really really wanted to get this offer out before your war went any further, because as pissed as the aztecs are, its really a no harm no foul situation right now.
I've talked with ruff quite a bit, its taken some work, but there you go
me: Thanks, Darrel, that's a great offer and we must seriously consider that.
DJ: okay...so, I've put a lot out there. its somewhat of a risk to do so but I see two birds, one stone. bird #1, ruff can pull his weight again. bird #2, we get another ally into the allianceI wish I could tell you more about the alliance but Im afraid that has to wait until you've at least agreed in priniciple to the offer
I know that is a bit unfair, but we've already taken some risk

So, what to do next?

Jowy, Athlete and me are leaning towards accepting this proposal.
What do you think?

Hey Guys,

Firstly I made all moves as if we are still at war.

I chatted with Rego a bit tonight. I couldn't go for it without Jowy getting a say despite our majority rules earlier, however I did let on that we're almost a sure thing in.

We received some e-mails from the "small" side though which gave me pause for thought. So I figured we should all sleep on it. We made an agreement with Ruff to not pillage his tiles if he doesn't pillage ours. Apart from that just think about how we want to play this game and what we want to do. If we end up joining the big or small side I just want to have fun. This is already more intense then what I wanted but that's beside the point. I guess that's what happens when you have diplomacy involved, especially with tech trading/brokering on!

If we can all post tomorrow our thoughts, I can send an e-mail either way in about 10 - 12 hours...I believe that gives you Europeans time to wake up and post.

Well there's a possibility that they're bluffing. There's plenty of civs to choose, why would they pick one that Ruff, their member, has a feud with? Also in a game this big, for every alliance there is a counter alliance that we could join instead. If this was a solo game then I wouldn't accept.

Since everyone else wants to accept, I'm OK with that :P

I agree with Jowy.
They might be bluffing.

But do we want to try to keep this war going? It wil be a tough job to win.
Joining this alliance (for now) is the easier way out.
I'm ok with ending this war.

Ok, forget my last post.
I just read the mails from Exploit and the the others from the other alliance.

Going with them sounds like way more fun than going with the "big guys".

So I suggest we chop/whip axes like crazy and try to kill Ruff.
We might ask for techs in exchange since we won't be able to tech a lot during war times.

What do you guys think?

I've gotta read all the emails and chats too before giving any in-depth opinions. In case we don't yet KNOW who are on Ruff's alliance, we should definately ask them EVEN if we aren't planning to go along with them.
