My turnset consisted mostly of exploration of the seas, some infrastructure builds, and resupplying our army with some hwachas for future use!
Before hitting enter I whipped a library at Utrecht, it was about to starve without its full BFC anyway. Overflow from that was a 1 turn granary... and now that city is rollin.
1210AD- Great Prophet born in Amsterdam! Hmmm... I've got two more shrines to build let's see what they'd net us.
Ok Taoism and Christianity would get us almost nothing, and I don't see us pushing the spread. So there's a great prophet chilling in Amsterdam waiting until we need a one man golden age!
Also this turn set Plain Silly to grow, it was waaay below its happy and health cap. We can whip a bank/university later with all the extra pop. No working mines for you Plain Silly.
1220AD - Sent some workers up to put a plantation on the incense to our NE.
1230AD - Meet Shaka! He's about tied with Tokugawa in score. Hopefully they've been throwing their stacks at one another.
1250AD - Pop a silver at the capital.
Proof.
1255 AD - Paper is in and onto education next. Let's get up some of our UB. And I think we have a great shot at getting Liberalism first, albeit very late compared to some games I've played.
Don't know if anyone else spotted this...
Tokugawa has Thebes on his city list. Looks like Egypt is on their continent as well, or already dead.
1260 AD - A big year for the Korean peoples. Our ships explore every longitude (latitude?) and now our boats are blessed with +1 movement. Also, somewhat anticlimactically after my spy work on Toku's city screen, we meet Egypt.
Looks like starting on a landmass with Shaka and Toku doesn't help your score. She is woefully behind in tech.
1265 AD - Justinian completes the Hagia Sophia. Maybe another wonder for us to take?
1275 AD - Find Thebes. A double holy city that probably could've been a monster.... surely its potential will be wasted under Tokugawa's control.
For real... 5 seafood!
1280 AD - Hahahaha...
Don't hold your breath Justinian.
Speaking of Theology though. We have the Apostolic Palace but none of our religious buildings are showing the +2 hammers when I hover over the option to build them. Do we need the tech for it to work under our control?
1285 AD - Didn't really write down what I've been building. Just getting the required infrastructure in place. A couple banks and grocers for the mature cities. Basic stuff in the new cities. Hwachas elsewhere. Did whip a forge at the Hague this turn. It has plenty of food but no production. The whip will be king here.
Check out all the wonders Shaka built... seems counter to his personality.
1295 AD - Whip a settler from Border Control.
1300 AD - Stopped on a nice round number.
Finally brought irrigation to the wheat at border control!
The settler in the city is unmoved. There are about 3 ok city spots left on the southwest part of our landmass... pick your favorite for him.
I tentatively set us on a course for Rifling. We shouldn't be beaten to Liberalism (unless there's a CIV out there we haven't met who's ahead) and we can sandbag it to get the best tech possible. We would probably get to protective rifles while Justinian is still rollin with his Cataphracts (which he doesn't have yet). I think it'd be fun to take over our starting continent at least. Education will be in as soon as you hit enter.
I could've built longbows for defense, but don't think Justinian is close to attacking... so pretty much the only military I built was about 6 hwachas. Figure they will still be useful with a stack of rifles.
