I found another issue.
It is about the difficulty levels.

In 1.31 it goes:
intro 125g 100% flee survival
easy 100g 100% flee survival
normal 75g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)
hard 50g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)
impossible 25g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)

In insecticide it goes:
easy 125g 100% flee survival
normal 100g 100% flee survival
hard 75g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)
extreme 50g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)
impossible 25g 50% flee survival (75% for heroes)

As you can see the starting gold amounts are shifted from the original version and for normal difficulty on insecticide the flee chance is wrong which makes it much easier than original normal difficulty.

I found an issue with the version that was just released. After building complete, the newly selected build item is not correct. It is autoselecting either a nonexistant build item that causes graphical corruption until changed, or dark elf swordsmen as my next build every time. I am playing as halflings currently. The attached savegame has a reproduction, you just need to load it and hit next turn.

I am new to this forum and the patch and the first thing I noticed after applying the patch was : On a new game, after building my first granary(my first building built) upon completion it defaulted to a dark-elf swordsman as the next unit to build. I was playing as the High Elves. I built a couple dark elf swordsman just to test it out and took them into battle and easily won with their overpowered magic ranged attack lol

So I started a new game to see if the bug would repeat. Upon completion of the granary, it defaulted to building a "chaos spawn" with 80 turns to complete(lol) rather than finishing the chaos spawn, I immediately changed my build queue to a sawmill so that I wouldn't be tempted to cheat and build a chaos spawn that early in the game. Upon completion of the sawmill, it defaulted to building a dark elf swordsman HAHA so i alt f4'd and went to bed. As soon as I woke up I was still thinking about playing some master of magic again so I decided to search the forum to see if anyone else was having this issue with the new patch.

I am very excited to find other people that still play the true classic old games that I love and play daily and even more excited to find someone dedicating time to bug fixes for such an older game. I look forward to future patches and am willing to help in any way possible with donations/time to continue such a project.

I second this notion if it is possible. I like to rename cities to help me remember where each one is as I usually use the same city names in every game.

Dyne, welcome to the RBO forums. The patch was riddled with bugs. If you want to try current improved build, I reccomend you look here:

On that page, there is a "1.40o4_Donee" build that seems to work much better than the original alpha. Try it and report the result, please.

Maybe kyrub should consider setting up a PayPal donations account similarly how Worlds of Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic III HD has done it. I personally want to fund and be funded to develop more games in the Master series. Kyrub is someone who understands and cares and does it anyway for free. Such development should be supported financially too, not just with feedbacks.

WhiteMage, thanks a lot for this offer, it completely surprised me and moved me. It is very pleasant that you and others appreciate the work, without it I would have certainly stopped years ago.

I cannot accept any financial contributions, though. First, I believe it is against the law; we are already moving on the edge of the law when we disassembe and modify a program made and sold by someone else, but once we step into the territory of contributions, without permission of the seller, we are clearly heading into the dangerous area (HoMM III HD does it, but I don't think it is OK). Second, I don't need the money for my life, I am stretched only because of other important things money cannot pay (family, work, father, spirituality) need more time. Third, I don't want to feel bound to continue my work. Getting paid would do that to me. I love the inner freedom, to leave MoM behind me for 4-13 months and then to come back when I have my annual mathematical "itch". I imagine this must be infuriating for MoM users... but so it is.

I love things that deny trends. MoO and MoM were made >20 years ago and the community of its players still refuses to disperse. I'm lucky to be part of it and happy I can contribute - from time to time.
