Refusing to make a thread, being an arsehole and not even having the civility to say hello in what above all is an event amongst the community never mind the players is going against the spirit of this forum.
Totally agree.

Not making a thread is sad, but it can't be a great offense as its common on RB for threads to be abandoned or very infrequently updated. Foul language and insults directed toward an opponent are unsporting, but occurs often within threads, especially when war declarations are involved. Is telling the opponent immediately via chat what you think of them really so much worse than sticking it in a thread that they'll read half a year later & which is publicly posted for anyone browsing the site? I agree with Bob here. I really don't like how Warlord is behaving, but he will have to pay the consequences in-game. And I also don't see the difference between insulting other players directly via chat and doing so in one's spoiler thread - why are insults less insulting if you get to read them months later? I've openly wondered about this several times before already.
Not making a thread is really disappointing, especially as writing reports is one of the core foundations of Realms Beyond. But lots of people play in PB/PBEM games and stop updating their thread after a couple of weeks, so there's no real difference here.
The mistake has been made when the other players accepted him into the game in the first place. IIRC the sign-up was his first post, and by now he has a total of 3 posts. Including someone you absolutely don't know into such a long-lasting game is very risky.
Warlord won't become a part of this community if he doesn't change his behavior, but that's no reason to kick him out of a game, especially that early.

Do they not see the 5!!!! food city with lots of hills? They could settle that and then, hopefully, manage to get w2 also as a buffer

Wouldn't this 5 food site have to be 1 W of c3_1?
If so, they wouldn't be able to work the fish until they set up a coastal city and built up a work boat, which would be a while & a bit of a waste.
Whilst its a lovely city, it may be that taking that city makes its surrounding cities weaker or wastes otherwise useful tiles. I don't know for sure, but I think that is why they are not going for it

Wow ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) . Trust is a big part of RB, since the lurker threads are unprotected. I kind of agree that its better to have established community members in these games for that reason alone.
Not to mention its unfun dealing with tools.

plako Wrote:Power graph. It seems Warlord finished his 4th warrior. We probably need to build also couple of them after the Settler that is quite alright since we can grow to size 3 while building them. Warlord seems to be really slow start building settler. If he starts now he'll get in ~T35 and still only have 1 Worker. Good news to us. We'll have our 2nd city at good speed at that time and if we get really lucky with Copper we might even get 1 Axe out to potentially cause some headache to his settling plans.

Just wanted to say- he is a part of the community, as far as I know he's just someone who isn't seen all that much in the civ area, I do know he plays with quite a few other RB people in LoL for example.
Also, as an aside just because you don't post a huge amount doesn't mean you're not there, I lurked for quite a long while before joining, if I remember right it was when Sullla/Sirian did their SG as civ4 came out that I started lurking (though not continuously since then).
