Assassin in the Palace (WW minigame)

scooter Wrote:What about my reaction "confirmed" it to you btw? Just curious. My answer was dead serious, I was waiting to flip to Brick, but I had planned to do so. When you jumped on Zak, I suspected this was because you were trying to figure out if I was a guard smoking out the assassin or if I was an assassin who accidentally snagged onto the king.

Because you'd previously called Zak out for making a case on you and said that cases were anti-town. If you were really a guard, the only reason to break that stance is if you seriously believed that Zak was scum. It didn't make any sense to do it as a tactical vote.

also, I was online the last 3 hours of the game. So hard to keep quiet during your exchanges with uberfish, and later during your exchanges with Brick. And again while I waited for Commodore to post your target =).
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Why not? I pretty clearly said I changed my mind. I had no plan to do that as an assassin either until right before I did it.

It's not that you changed your mind, it's that you tried to retrospectively frame it as a tactical vote

Hm ok, if it worked. It seriously was a tactical vote though, I went into that thinking Zak was probably king and I was looking for confirmation. My post saying I didn't know Bigger was on Zak was genuine confusion - I thought nobody was on Zak, and when I saw Bigger on Zak I actually then regretted my post a little. lol

Bigger Wrote:I really thought it was painfully obvious who the king was on day 3 before we even lynched Serdoa, I was a bit desperate. I didn't know Scooter was the assassin until he joined me on Zak, but I was not moving off Zak for anything - even if Brick never logged in to to cast the deciding vote on Scooter, I would have taken the coinflip (really pretty sure if I had moved off Zak Scooter would have figured it out, better to take the 50/50 then vote Scooter and make it obvious who the king was).

awesome goodjob

I think 8 was about the right size for this game. Go up to say 10-11 and it'd just add extra days where people were being lynched randomly

I do think the castle trying various tactics to confuse the assassin was quite fun

The question is whether discussion helps the castle find the assassin more or helps the assassin find the king more. I think this game did show that castle can use its information advantage to help find the assassin and leave false clues (Although clearly people do inadvertently give away information too.)

Also the game might play better in realtime or with a majority autolynch as there were points in the game where players were obviously lurking on purpose.

I forgot to thank Commodore for hosting this!

It really was a nice break from the WW games, with more emphasis on thinking and less on posting. I enjoyed it, and would probably play again. Next time, I bet there will also be more talking. The suggested tiebreaker rules make sense to me. I was a little worried I might be lynched on that final day. smile

Uberfish, what did I do that was anti-castle? I also wonder about your comment that I would lynch anyone who voted for me. That wasn't my stance at all, and I was a little frustrated that I didn't draw more heat. Bigger and Brick both voted for me early on, and I never went after either of them.

In the end, I had a very strong guard read on both Bigger and Brick, and I truly was waffling a bit between Scooter and Uberfish. But Uberfish managed to sway me with his "don't lean towards me" post. Plus, I couldn't find any sign that Scooter was in the know.

Another good thing about recruiting from the dead thread is that we get all the strong town players and weak scum players. smile Joking (a little), but I think we had a nice crew. In short, GG everybody.
If you know what I mean.
