Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

AT loves it when a plan comes together!! [Spoilers]

Can we try naming the lakes for easier metagame discussion? Since we're not a creative civ: the Great Lakes would do.

Suggestions: Blue Lake for NYPD Blue
East Lake shared with Commodore: Lake Superior
Elephant Lake: North of our Blue Lake (we have an Elephant lake in Ontario. )
Lake Erie: To our SW
Lake Huron: To our NW

ah - no, settler will go to the marble site - I want to build the GLib, after all, and that requires enough time to get a granry and a lib in place.

After that, commerce.

NYPD Blue will whip in the WB I need.

My current plan is: poly->priest and try oracle. that gets oracle started a couple turns later than it could, but it also means that if someone finishes it, I get more time on it.

By the end of the turn, I may change that to: try to chop it into M*A*S*H without marble up.

hmm....

I can get it in 8 turns if I go for it now (pick up priesthood, I mean) and just build right into it in M*A*S*H. two chops and 12 base hammers gets me 149 in 5 turns, plus whatever overflow I have, after the 3 more from Collosus. M*A*S*H is the right place for it, too.

Hmm... I actually can't get marble online in 8 turns. I only have, at most, 2 workers. it takes 3 turns to set up the city and it takes 11 worker turns to road and quarry the marble. Now I'm thinking that commerce is the better city and to try to chop it into M*A*S*H using a couple of workers and maybe a whip.

How does pitboss resolve who wins a tie in a wonder race? anyone know?

A fine idea! I added the names to my crappy map above and will add markings to the game!!

So, current plans:

1) Finish Collosus in 3.
2) Plant Commerce in 3.
3) Chop Oracle in 8
4) 1 turn of research into poly, then 2 into priesthood.

Worker in cap, then growth into something, probably a settler after that. Do need more workers, too.

Granary in NYPD Blue, archer and a settler.

More plans:

After commerce and marble, I need at least 3 more cities in short order:

the horse/sheep/whale site on that penisula on Lake Erie.
The Pigs site.
And Mindy's Moai site, which I think will, in fact, hold Moai.

The horse site is really very important and I'd go for it now, but I have a lack of workers and settlers and it's kind of exposed, so hard to cover from barbarians.

In simultaneous pitboss first to bonuses (including building wonders, founding religions, Liberalism, etc.) are determined by a randomized player order rolled each turn. If two or more players arrive at a first to bonus on the same turn, the winner is the player earlier in the turn order for that particular turn. So a coinflip, a.k.a., the RNG hates you (usually). tongue

In sequential pitboss the production turn order is the same as the player turn order.

I hadn't thought of this until now and this doesn't apply here, but in sequential pitboss does the same turn order problem with trade routes appear as in PBEM games (where players later in the turn order get screwed by the trade routes)? Excluding AW games obviously.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

well, at least half the time in races, the RNG does hate you, more often if there are more than 2 people in the race wink

so, I'm about to go to sleep and I check civstats and i see this:

which looks like cornflakes logging in and razing two of azza's cities.

Which is, in fact, what it is.

Also of note - Commobrick dropped 2 more cities, giving them SEVEN - which, I presume, means they are breaking even at around 20% science or something like that.

Interesting turn for many of those who arent' me. Also, not gonna have to worry about praets, I don' tthink...

I was around when TT played, so I played, too.

High level: Oracle still not built.
Switched research to priesthood, due in 2.
Collosus is also due in 2.
More barbs - need to do some busting. Only the axe is any threat and it's not much of one.
Found new city next turn - thinking LA Law. Dunno of a show with an acronym that is about rich people.
Am getting the commerce city, as I think that's the stronger one.

This is the overview map with barbs. The yellow circles are places I need barb busters, the yellow squares are the area busted by those busters. Those will be, mainly, archers. barbs are a pain in the ass and since I want to get 3 or 4 more settlers out in the next 10 turns or so, we need to clear them out. Where, precisely, those settlers come from is a different issue - I think 1 from NYPDBlue, 1 from NCIS and 1 from ATeam - 1 from MASH if I don't land Oracle.

I'm beginning to think all the IND civs blew off oracle - Commodore is highly leveraging the IMP of IMP/IND. Azza is getting killed now, so has other things on his mind. 2mtetraninja lost a worker earlier to the new mad dog of civ, cornflakes.

I think we want currency with oracle if we get it. My reasoning:

Build weath is good.
Markets are buildings no one gets discounts on, so they are good for us. Plus, silks, whales, fur and ivory are all doubled by markets

Other options:
CoL - caste is an interesting choice for us - run specialists without building. Courts will be useful at some point, but not yet.
machinery - not currnetly useful, i don';t think - not many hills and food is plentiful. Not enough rivers for watermills, dont' have IW yet, anyway. With a forge, market and religion, monument and charismatic, our happy cap is somethign like 15 Which is pretty awesome.
Construction - a definite possibilty. But currency is more expensive, so I think that is best.

Demos
[Image: t87demos.JPG]

Not sure who is #1 in GNP, but my guess is TT, representation fueled scientists, pyramids and a bunch of libraries. his GNP is less culture than ours, so he's probably the current best techer.

Some tactical planning (so it can come together, natch)

If the barb axe goes onto point A, the dog will kill it.
if the barb axe goes onto point B, the dog will move towards MASH
If the barb attacks the archer on point C, it should die - if not, the dog kills it.

In any case, we settle the city and put the archer in the city and we should be fine - the barb is 6.6 vs. that axe sitting in the city, so I'm not worried.
