Today I said, "Fuck it. I can't let my end of Season 1 ELO be lower than Seyruun!" so I put my gold medal on the line.....and won. 1535 now. GG Seyruun. GG.

Seyruun is good now? I still remember what I think was his first game with the RB crowd; a duo lane as Alistar with his Zilean. I remember it because it was the most challenging experience of babysitting I've ever had.
I figured out why I feel I have more gold than I used to. My csing is definitly better this time around, which must be due to the ping. Getting 6 out of 6 creeps actually feels kinda easy now. In other news, I can pick up tanks and do well with them without much effort but it's harder to get back to where I used to be playing damage dealers (as Tredje was unfortunate enough to experience when I picked up Ezreal last week). And I can still crush an enemy team from the jungle, as my 13 game 9 - 4 record with Fiddlesticks show. Had some hilariously bad ults though. Also had a first look at Sullla's stream. Going to keep an eye on it for sure. He's great listening to when he's not explaining a champion's abilities in detail for half the game! Oh, and this Nocturne guy? SO SEXY! I've seen him in a few streams and his jungle ganking looks like something he could've learned from Rammus. Very likely to be the first champion I'll buy this time around.
"my big strength in this game is that I'm in my sheltered little corner of the map where Sandover can't reach me"

Sandover Wrote:Seyruun is good now?Am I good? Not really. But through hardcore grokking of this game for the past year (playing the hell out of my favourite champions, studying high ELO streams and keeping up with the meta) I did get to gold ELO and got some pretty sweet games on the way. I don't think I would have been able to do that without duo queuing with some good players, particularly in my Janna games that made up a bulk of my ranked wins. Also, mostly junglers - I find myself decent at Warwick, Amumu and Fiddle, and I can with mixed success play any viable jungler this game has to offer (with the exception of Jarvan IV and Taric ()), which usually means I know the jungle matchups and routes and can counter people like that. Sometimes. When I am not playing like an idiot. (Varis is much better at jungling than I am simply because he is more consistent and just plays smarter, too.) No longer playing Zilean, BTW. Nobody in their right mind lets me solo a lane. (Or play AD carry!) Sandover Wrote:Oh, and this Nocturne guy? SO SEXY! Eeyup, Nocturne is very solid. Can be built as the team's initiator or a straight-up damage dealer. He has a plethora of fun builds and can be tweaked in some cool ways. In some respects he's like Master Yi v 2.0, and he also replaced Olaf's role in the jungle if you look at the high ELO metagame (he's also much less risky).
Champs getting changed next patch (info from Riot poster on forums):
Mordekaiser, Shen, Taric, Orianna, Shaco. My guess is: Mordekaiser - nerfed to the ground Shen - buffed to heavens Taric - nerfed to the ground Orianna - nerfed to the ground Shaco - nerfed to the ground (kinda like when Eve got her stun removed, beat down the already beaten!) Jowy Wrote:Champs getting changed next patch (info from Riot poster on forums): I'm with you (not on the "into the ground" "to heavens" stuff) on who will go up vs down except on Taric. Taric just got nerfed. Shaco I can't say....I never see Shacos in ranked at my elo. sunrise089 Wrote:Shaco I can't say....I never see Shacos in ranked at my elo. Plenty of them on normals I'd say (Jaje was our solo top BTW) (that jungling Jarvan got owned so hard)
Just in case I'm the not the only one who missed it.
There's a "Rune Combiner" available via the recycle button on the runes page on you summoner profile. It has two modes of operation - 5 assorted runes of a given tier can be traded for a random rune in the next tier OR 2 assorted runes of a given tier can be traded for a random rune in the same tier. The primary use to me was to clear my rune page of a bunch of clutter - all the old tier 1 runes are gone - swapped away (along with a surplus holiday tier 2 rune) into a shiny new magic pen quint (?) There are 15 IP runes available in tier 1. 25 * 15 = 375, which is cheaper than all buy 17 of the 93? different tier three runes available. 4-1 odds of improving the cost of the runes -- but random assignment, so you may end up with worthless junk anyway. Assuming the replacement runes are generated uniformly, which may not be valid. VoiceOfUnreason Wrote:into a shiny new magic pen quint (?) Keep it. I sold mine, I wish I had them now for champs like Malzahar with less than stellar AP ratios. And yes, my most famed use of rune combiner was when I got drunk and turned all my mana regen per level yellows into different runes and I had to buy them again. |
