Yay for quad post (just saw something to mention in the IT thread, and figured I'd make a new post instead of making that last one even longer by editing).
Anyway, when you do log in, could you grab screenshots for our turn 51 comparison for after the game is over? I'm only posting this here in case you are like me and forget to check the IT thread more than once a week or so.

Let's see. That's a lot to respond to!
I played T51, noticed the changes you made, liked them and didn't make any adjustments (50% makes sense for research). So I took the screenshots, made the new worker road (didn't name him yet), and ended turn since all is pretty straightforward. Thanks for the direction signs by the way!
I like whipping Hadrumetum... I think we will be able to time it with a granary, and the sheep will allow it to grow up pretty well pretty quickly, but why waste turns growing when we can grow with a granary? whip whip whip...
I love the city names... I LOL'ed when you mentioned Lakewood. When I went out of town to visit the father-in-law last month, I went to Lakewood, so it's very appropriate. And using Dallas, Ontario, etc.. that's great. Although if we have a Boring, I hope we have enough cities one day to use Drain. I believe there is no better city name around.
If I can stay awake late enough, I will get the screenshots online tonight. But having been up since 3 am, I'm getting a little tired!
Did I miss anything? I'll re-read, and then post again if I did.

Glad you like the city names, and I really like Drain too.
In regards to Boring whipping times (I figure we should get used to
calling them their new names), we need to have pottery before we can build a granary, and then need to put 1 turn of hammers in to avoid the whipping from scratch penalty. I'm pretty sure that is actually the fastest we can complete the granary considering having to wait for pottery.

I did forget one thing from in-game... I believe A4 has met another team. Every turn they have been 2 EP behind us (because they split their EP the turn we first met). This turn, they are 6 EP behind us. I kinda hope it takes us 10 or so more turns to make second contact.. as that would get us enough EP to see their research.
Also, borders pop in Centralia (I like the sound of that) next turn. Do you know for a fact.. will that give us trade routes thanks to the rivers?

We'll have to build a road to the river for Centralia and Boring, but yes
the river will work other than that (at least according to my worldbuilder test).

Quote:Greetings Team Nice Shot
The A4 would like to Congratulate your team on settling your 3rd city.
We would have said so sooner but RL can be a hassle sometimes.
We have met Krill last turn. His warrior appeared on our W border.
Are you guys available for a chat sometime over the weekend? If you
are can you name some times when you are available?
Enough Talking!
WarriorKnight of A4
Not just any team... they met Krill.
And the fun begins.
My availability is limited this weekend... I work 6-4 tomorrow, and on Sunday we are throwing a birthday party for the rugrat. I can chat during the usual time tomorrow (8pm on) and chat-times are spotty on Sunday... probably off and on from 9-noon, and then after 6pm with more consistency after 8pm. I hope to get a chance to chat with A4. Relations with them have been good so far and I think with Krill to our NW (maybe) we will need a good ally sooner rather than later. Unless we meet and ally with Krill?
I will shoot them a simple message acknowledging their request.

So the fun begins.
By the way, if you'd like a nice diplo line back to them (or you could save it for the chat), you could congratulate them for being #1 in GNP (you should double check it probably, but at least I remember us being #2 and looking at the EP graphs they were ahead of us).
I think it is a little too early to start looking for allies (we can only talk to one person!). I'd like to hear them out with what the want to chat about first before really deciding what to do diplomatically.
Just to check, would you prefer to do the chat yourself or have both of us do it if we can arrange a time that works for everyone (or even just have me on at the same time if you need to bounce anything off me)? (Either is fine. I can't tell which would be best diplomatically. I am pretty flexible this weekend, so if by chance you can't work out a time to chat with them I could potentially fill in if you like...just let me know in advance. Saturday from noon to 2 should be the only time I couldn't make even with advance notice.)

Good point. I'll save that for chats unless we have a meaningful e-mail to send before then.

I agree, too soon to ink anything long-lasting. My goal so far with diplomacy has been quick to get back to A4, even if to just communicate. I haven't let more than a couple of days go by without sending a note. I get the feeling from their e-mails that DIM isn't so quick to communicate, and I hope that works in our favor when the time comes for A4 to decide what team would make a better partner... if we even want to ally with A4!
If you are around, to participate, I would like you to either be a part of the chat or be around to bounce ideas off. Taking their note by the letter, it seems like they want as close to all six people around as possible.

Ok, just let me know when the chat is arranged for. One thing to note
diplomatically is that if we have opponents on all four sides, we will want to
secure at least 1 flank.
In addition to Saturday, I will also be unavailable from 4 to 6:30 Sunday. However, based off your schedule, it looks like our availabilites should match up for the most part (let's hope theirs do as well)

Just checked our emails, and it looks like we will meet team DIM next turn.
By the way, did you get back to team A4 re setting up a time to chat?
