I'd guess they weren't so popular in the US.

Except on low level, I think early it is far too pricy (as a FFH beginner, I am playing in emperor, and that means no working citizens for 10t - starving back to size1-, then only 1 for the next 10t etc...)
(cross-posted) Hey Jabah,
It depends which city you get the event in.
If it's early game, in your capital/ only city, then yes, possibly it's too expensive.
However, if it comes midgame in your newest city when you have 10, it's absolutely fine of course.
I've even had the event trigger in a Settlement while playing as Kuriotates.
That's like an auto YES YES YES!
darrelljs Wrote:Yeah, that's right. I think the witch event gives 30t of +1 happy (since he executed her).
Darrell At first glance I thought this was a spoiler, but now I'm not so sure.
When you say 'he' executed her... ?
30 turns seems a bit long on quick though? Surely 10-15ish?
Still waiting on Kyan to say whether he's certain it was only for the witch event, or whether we're overlapping with harpy.

It is not a spoiler, I am just going by the log screen shot you posted. It is possible the log does not give the outcome though .

I detest 80s music and love coffee, so you be the judge .
In the 80s, other than a few outliers, I mostly listened to music from the 60s and 70s. Its not an anti-British thing either, since Led Zeppelin was in my top 3!

Darrell Exactly, the log doesn't give the outcome.
It just says that a witch was brought forward.
So you saying 'he executed her' sets my paranoia triggers on overload!
Ah well, it's not a big deal either way.
So long as Bob doesn't get a free GArt, I'm happy.
Mysticism in 3 turns!
Double revolting to Agrarianism and God-King should scare a few of them.

Just so you know, the Straits are tons better than their two big 80's hits would lead you to believe. IMHO The Brothers in Arms album would be a whole lot better if it left Money for Nothing and Walk of Life off the track listings.
You can't lump them in with most 80's bands.

Re the witch event: you should be able to tell his response from the demographics, shouldn't you? There'll be a big decrease in the rival worst approval rating if he let the witch live...

And since the Rival Worst Approval has stayed at 50% (ie right on the happy cap boundary), we can assume Bob didn't get a serious negative happy penalty to go over.
Indeed, if we look at the Rival Average Approval, it actually went up 1% last turn, despite Selrahc gaining +1 pop in Lapland.
So unless someone is busy hooking up happy resources, it's safe to say that he did execute the witch to get some temporary happy.
The new Rival Worst Approval is therefore probably Sareln, who at 5 pop is also at his happy cap.
