[SPOILERS]Novice, Spacemanmf and Athlete4life10 are HUYANA CAPAC OF CHINA

spacemanmf Wrote:Average soldier points up 750 and rival best up 2,000, so someone else has increased by 1,000.

Pegasus's score has increased by 3 so is that a population point (explaining the 1,000 increase above)? And someone else has built a warrior?

Yeah, the person who had 9k before was Ad Hoc (4k from TW, 1k from pop, 4k from 2 warriors), so I guess he decided to finish the warrior he had queued. That means he delayed his worker a further three turns.

Pegasus grew to size two, so he's been working the grassland town for some turns, whereas TT has been working the plains town. Max crop yield is 10 because the governor assigned the rice tile to Pegasus. Not sure what any of them are building though, they should both have accumulated enough hammers (~20) for a warrior, but neither has finished one.

Still no new techs, so I guess that Ad Hoc is not on Priesthood. Maybe we'll see judaism founded in ~4 turns. Expect bronze working to come in for TT and Pegasus next turn or the turn after that.

Ruff's power graph matches what we already know; his three increases are warrior (2k), pop (1k), mining (2k).

athlete4life10 Wrote:Pegasus's score increase is definitely a pop point, but it's specifically a growth to an even #. I would assume that means he's now reached size 2.

He's size two, yes, but how does that even number thing work?
I have to run.

BTW average GNP keeps oscillating between 25 and 26 which means Ruff is switching research between Bronze Working and Agriculture, that joker. smile

God, I'm stupid, I need to get me one of those razors that Occam is so fond of. Luckily I double-check my work.

Pegasus was at 8k before, so naturally he grew AND completed a warrior, to become the new rival best with 11k. That means Ad Hoc did not interrupt his worker build.

So, situation at the moment:
Pegasus: 1 worker, 2 warriors, just grew to size 2, tech path Mining->Bronze Working
Ad Hoc: 32/60 into a worker, 2 warriors, size 2 working both towns, tech path Polytheism->Masonry->Monotheism (?)
Ruff: 45/60 into a worker, 2 warriors, size 2 working grassland town and rice, tech path Agri->Mining->BW->Agri->BW->Agri
TT: 1 worker, 0 warriors, still size 1, tech path Mining->Bronze Working. Could be building a barracks, could have produced a scout, could be on a second worker.
Us: 1 worker, 2 warriors, still size 1, tech path Myst->Bronze Working->Myst->The Wheel, building Stonehenge.

EDIT: Here's a devillish thought: If TT is our western neighbour, we and Ruff could have three warriors converging on his defenseless city. devil

OK, I had to double check what I was trying to remember. Each pop growth is worth points but you only get a 1K boost to power when you grow to an even #, aka growing to size 2, 4, 6, 8 are all worth 1K power but growing to size 3, 5, 7, 9 etc...is not.

That's good to know. I was wondering why noone had any power from their first population point. I'd venture a guess that the power from population is floor(total pop / 2)*1000, so if you have a size two capital plus a size one city, my guess is growing your capital to size three gives a 1k increase in power.

To be fair, I led you slightly down the garden path...

Unfortunately, our boys have some way to go before they get to the next civ along and then they'd be oh so far from home. However, ruff's warrior plus ours might be useful from the point of view of forcing TT to build warriors.

I don't think it works that way but feel free to double check!

Tested this exact scenario and my power did increase by 1k.

lol This made me triple check the article on cfc about power and you're right. I simply didn't read the wording properly that pertained to population growths.
