I hope yuris moves onto the road with his warrior. If he goes SE he'll see the galley. I really want to get settle his land and Culture bomb him...

Beyond that move, the rest of this was largely worker micro.
Lorien was founded. Work was begun with one worker on the sheep.
Dale is going to grow soon, so the two workers near there started a cottage on the grassland tile nearby. It should finish next turn with a spare worker turn.
There was a worker on a river hill near Edoras, so I started him on a mine because getting onto hills always costs a turn, and Edoras will grow soon.
Minas Tirith is getting a plains cottage, because it has plenty of food, in anticipation of being able to grow with Calendar.
The floodplain near Edoras got half a road. A different worker (who just finished a cottage next to it) can finish it next turn.
I feel like I'm forgetting workers here, but those are the ones I remember.

I moved the galley 1S because the options were that, revealing it to MNG or risking Yuris move into our city and see it because the mountain won't block enough vision. I'm hoping MNG doesn't tell Yuris.

Oh, and we need to remember to move EPs again; I forgot to do so until after ending turn.

I'm going to be absent to an unknown extent in the next week or two.

I would recommend teching (Calendar) - IW - Masonry - Currency - Metal Casting, settling Angmar and on the rice in the middle arm, and putting spare hammers in other cities into wonders that we will be actually building soon in BD, for the failgold. (Gotta take them out of BD's queue to do so.) Keep making lots of grassland cottages, grow and whip once we have a higher happy cap (it's better than working mines). Especially grow BD (and don't build any units there ever, and only whip forge/market). Settle next prophet / make academy with next scientist.

Longer term we might consider saving some GScis to bulb Astro. It takes one for optics and it's a bit wasteful; two for astro itself. Tech requirements are we don't research Meditation (to block Philo) or Civil Service (to block Paper). And we must research alphabet. (And of course to Machinery and Compass.) Just a possibility of course.

Keep relations:
GES: Allied
Commodore: Cordial, happy to trade
Yuris: situation dependent
MNG: We have always been at war with MNG. (Should probably close borders asap after circumnav and get yuris/commodore to do so too. Nothing wrong with having other mutually beneficial deals with him of course.)

Btw: you can see in the shared account chat history that commodore caught me on chat today. He congratulated us on GLib and admitted that he had just started chopping into it himself. smile He also asked if we were making parthenon in the near future, I said yes, and he said he can't compete with IND even though he has marble and that he won't waste anything on it. He still might try to successfully build it (or other marble wonders) of course. wink He might even tell if we asked nicely.

Maintenance is getting worse... ~40 now, I think. That's going to add turns to our gold collecting, but at least we're getting 6 bpt anyway.

Most of the workers were continuing to do what they were doing last turn. For those that I needed to come up with new things for, I aimed for cottaging our flat land because we're going to need it, and we'll start growing again, Real Soon Now.

Gimli scouting:

(I can just imagine Seven swearing a blue streak on seeing this...)

For some reason, I didn't think it was important to take pictures of the other scouts. We should get circumnav, but I ... neglected to check the event log. Okay, this is getting embarrassing. I'll remember *that* at least next turn. alright

I *did* remember to move espionage to Commodore.

Maintenance means I can't turn research back up again just yet, unfortunately... calendar is still 3 turns out, and, at this rate, we'll need 130 gold to last those 3 turns. I'm not entirely sure what else to do with workers, so I'm building cottages anywhere flat and clear. Until those are up and running, though, I don't think we'll have our tech rate up very much. Currently, maintenance eats about 60% of our income.

Pictures later. rolleye
I'll say that Yuris is finally settling some more cities, and we're #1 in hammers and, based on conversation with GES, neck-and-neck with him for food and 20 food above rival average.

Keep in mind that we don't necessarily need 3 turns at 100% to research calendar. Just, more than two! So saving up gold for three full turns may in fact delay calendar.

Let's put it up next turn and see if we can run for it, then. Many of our cities have grown to unhappiness now, in preparation.

MSG from Yuris

Quote:Hi guys,

With your play, I may have to send you congratulatory emails every
turn smile Anyway, congratulations on the circumnav bonus, very
impressive date!

I also wanted to check if you have any plans for building Hanging
Gardens? We're thinking about getting them

All the best

Speaking of yuris I moved the galley NW 1 and moved the new settler from Osi north. It can get on the galley next turn, and move 3 spaces west. We can plant him in Yuris's territory in 3 turns.

SO where do we want to plant? The only way anyone gets the fish is if someone plants in the north red dot. We could stop that from happening and deny Yuris the fish. If we go lower he could Plant on that spot and steal the cows from us. I'm inclined to get a second settler up here pronto and fill in both spots actually.

I set science to 100% we'll get calender in 3. After that we should go for archery and get a skirmisher into the yuris city.

I set Osi to Worker. Built roads with the workers in a bunch of places.

Quick turn not much happening. Moved the axe in yuris's land closer to the intended city and found a barb warrior!

I wanted Edoras to grow so I set it to a chariot which I though might be useful.

Also set Grey Havens to a settler for Angmar. I figure the MT settler can settle on the rice isthmus or on the desert hill east of BD.

Calendar next turn.
