I don't know about the attack, I don't have any concrete plan in mind. I was just speculating.
Anyway, it's nice to see that the new city is already paying for itself with that overseas trade route. And the work boat in CJ is a good call, too.
Stay hungry... yeah, we should at least grow it 1 more to work that iron mine. I'm thinking grow it two more, so it's unhappy by 1, then do a 2 pop whip. Besides, we need more axes.
axe then settler sounds good for the capital. The southeast and northeast could both be good spots for a city.
I had another thought about the map. Maybe it's actually a vertical axis? So far everyone has been mostly south or north of us. I'm thinking that it's a serpentine shape running vertically.

We're getting behind in tech... I just saw from the trade screen that both Mackoti and NS7 have currency, since we can see their gold.
We're also going to be constrained in happiness for a while, until we can get calender. I really hope we'll be able to settle that western big island and get silver, but if we can't then maybe we can trade our extra ivory to someone for it? Just a thought.
You had a sign for an impi in the capital, but I went with an axe since Fierce has so many axes and so far I've only seen 2 chariots from him. hope that's OK.
And I moved our northern galley north. I was thinking we could explore with it for a while, since there's not much else to do with it at the moment.

Yeah, sounds like good ideas all.
I like trading resources - does anybody have a happy to trade for ivory? I'm thinking we need to go Currency next just to keep up in tech. Unless you think Calendar will provide a similar benefit.

I really think calender will help more. It'll give us at least 3 more happiness, maybe 4 with the incense, which means 3 more cottages in each city, plus the plantations themselves. Currency only gives us +2 from the fur and ivory if we build markets.
Nobody has an extra silver, but maybe someone would trade us theirs in exchange for ivory? I dunno.

Does mackoti have silver? We could try to trade his silver for our ivory + ask for open borders. Unless you want to still try to get marble for OB. Also, maybe we should hold off on the resource trade until we see what's waiting on that isle north of Fierce.

Yeah, definitely wait to see what's there. I'm just worried that Mackoti will have already settled it. But if not, we can get our own silver.
I suppose we could set up one big package deal of marble + silver for ivory + OB lol.

Took turn 68 out for a spin...
Upgraded the impi to medic like you had a sign for. Two more exp to go for that guy.
I landed the settler on the southern isle so it gets crab, silk, & stone in its radius. Maybe it should go 1 tile south? I wasn't so sure. Our galley in the west found the fierce's island, but no culture on it yet. Hopefully ours will be the only.
And then we have what i saw in the south:
Good guess on verticle wrap. So we could try to have units ready to go for circumnavigating N-S when we get open borders out of NoSpace. But we probably don't need additional foreign trade routes until currency comes in.

So, looking closely at the fog, it seems that mackoti did in fact settle that island. We're going to try and trade him ivory and open borders for his silver and marble, then send our impi up to try and get circumnav. Open borders briefly with NS7 to finish it and then... possibly attack their island.

I settled Pumping Iron on that small island in the south by Fierce and Sian. It's totally undefended so... hopefully they don't attack it! I'm guessing they won't, though, and we can move an axe in there pretty quickly.
In the north, I moved up our impi next to Mackoti's borders, and I proposed this deal to him:
Right now ivory is better for him than silver, since he has currency (for markets) but not metal casting. And of course open borders will boost his GNP a lot, with the great lighthouse. So I'm guessing he'll take the deal. Then we can race for circumnav. Yuris has a warrior up there too, so he must be getting pretty close too.
In other news, Yuris popped a great prophet and fouded the buddhist shrine. Good for him.
For city micro, Cactus Jack should whip its Ikhanda next turn. Then I was thinking it should just work coast to regrow, since we could use the commerce and it's really growing too fast. If we get the silver from mackoti then we can let Raw Deal and Stay Hungry grow, but otherwise I think we should give the rice from Raw Deal to the Villain, and have Raw Deal focus on cottages.
Our impi by the barbs is at 8XP. It can attack the barb city at 90% odds, or we can just wait for another barb warrior to come out. I dunno which is best.

Demos. Kinda funny that we're #2 in population, and yet, still below average.
