[Spoilers] RFS-81 and haphazard1 don't know RtR, but won't let that stop them

shallow_thought declared again. This may be just to move units through my land, because I refused open borders earlier. Right now, I see two galleys in my territory.

Maybe none of the others wants to commit the forces needed to take your capital, and risk weakening themselves too much so that someone else ends up grabbing it? They could avoid part of that by razing it, but of course that destroys the benefit of capturing it.

shallow_thought has moved away again, and I offered peace to end the turn split. I'm building some infrastructure after all: a library will add 4 beakers per turn. I'm trying to hang on as long as possible, and if I can get to Monarchy and then Feudalism, I can build longbows. Shaving off a few turns seems worth it.

May as well. Feudalism will be a long haul with only one city. frown But building a bunch of weaker units will just drive your support costs up. If someone declares again you can build what units you have time for; one or two more probably would not make a difference.

I don't know what shallow_thought is up to. He didn't accept peace and moved up two units that prevent me from chopping the forest that I sent my worker to. He again moved two galleys and a work boat into my waters noidea

Getting caught up again. Life has been busy.

Hmmm, looks like Elkad is taking over and things are paused for that.

No idea what shallow_thought is/was thinking. Maybe just keeping an eye on you and keeping his options open if he spots an opportunity?

It's Turn 125 now. I agreed to a cease-fire with shallow_thought. He's settled a small island off the coast, I'll post a screenshot later. I've whipped a library last turn and am up to 22 beakers. Still 3 turns for Mono. Back to chopping units now!

Hmmm, island cities are good for trade route income. Maybe that is what he was after?

Monotheism is in, and I do not adopt OR. Even if a religion had somehow spread to me, I don't think it'd be worth it. The only infrastructure I'm considering is a granary for when I can adopt HR, since that would pretty much remove any happiness constraints on whipping. If I live that long. The game reports that it's due in 16 turns, but I'll have burned through my treasury before that, so it'll take a bit longer.

Here's the promised screenshot of shallow_thought's island city.

Oh also, look at Elkad's score! Rome has caught up in GPT and kept its power and production lead. Unless the others gang up on him, I think he's going to win.

My treasury will be empty next turn. I have a deficit of 9 gold, and I'd break even at 50% science. I've queued up a granary instead of more units now. I'd like to build more cottages, but I don't want to give free villages to whoever finally takes my capital...
