[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

Oh, yeah. Probably goes without saying but the only promotions we really want to get on Barnaxus are Combat 1-5. It's difficult enough getting enough experience for those without adding levels to things like shock or march that won't help the other golems. It can be tempting to go for march because Barnaxus heals annoyingly slowly, but it won't really help the xp quest enough to pick it up.

Yeah definitely only the combat promos. 1-2 should come easily from the skeletons. Hopefully they will spawn pretty quickly. There's currently one on the barrow and one on the tile south of it, Barnaxus is two turns away from it. Hopefully that skeleton doesn't suicide on my warrior, so Barnaxus can get the exp, and I also hope that barrow can spawn another skeleton soon. Too bad Ilios put his city near the ruins or we could've used it for exp, but we'll have to look for that elsewhere.

In my worldbuilding Orthus kept spawning just south of me, so I always just killed Orthus with Barnaxus after two warrior suicides lol

Speaking of Ilios, I wonder what he is posting there in his thread. His and Uberfish's threads are the most popular it seems. I wonder if he already knows what i'm planning or if he's planning some sort of attack himself. I haven't checked his power graph in a while, I should do that when I get the turn next. I always take a pic of the demographics each turn, but i can't be assed to take a pic of every graph each turn, that would clog my screenshot folder.

New turn, new update. The skeleton Barnaxus is chasing moved away from him, now standing just north of Cotton Valley. Michelangelo moved into the city so the skeleton wouldn't suicide into him, and the skeleton moved after him. Hopefully he will stay there for a turn, because for some reason I've noticed that barbarian troops usually rest outside a city for a turn before attacking. If that happens Barnaxus will be able to attack the skeleton before it has time to kill itself.

FoL and RoK were both founded on the same turn, by Uberfish and Ilios respectively. I'm quite positive it was them anyways, as only they had a significant enough score increase from last turn to have completed a tech. And obviously Uberfish has to be the one who completed FoL, being ljosalfar and all. This is good news, because if I defeat Ilios I get the RoK holy city smile Don't know how much RoK will help him defend against me, hopefully it won't help him at all. If he gets to priesthood he'll be able to get Stonewardens of course, which would help him, not sure if he can get there in time or not.

Off topic but I gotta post this here:

I was playing a Mercurians game, haven't had time to play any FFH2 at all aside from the PBEMs lately, so it was fun. The Khazad's Bambur just died, and I got a 72 exp Angel from it lol

Education!

Only 9 turns until aristocracy now!

The skeleton Barnaxus has been chasing has not suicided on Cotton Valley's walls, so Barnaxus will be able to kill it next turn, which is nice.

I've also had some back and forth mails with uberfish about the area near the fire mana and gems, he asked if he could settle east of the fire mana, but that would make his BFC go into CV's 3x3, so i told him i'd rather he settled one row south, and he accepted that. Having good relations with him, which is very nice to have when i'm going to attack the other way.

The area in question:

Also got an illegal slave trading ring event in Mutanbo, but couldn't afford giving the guard captain resources to combat it. It doesn't give me anything special anyways. I believe I just get some decreased crime rate or something? Which is pretty useless, don't think it actually does anything.

Sorry, but it does have an effect. If you give him the resources to combat it then a few turns later you'll get a follow up event where the captain rescues 3 slaves. You can either set them free to decrease the crime rate or say "That seems like a waste of perfectly good slaves" and keep them for yourself. It's a pretty good deal, and since we're dwarves the slaves might actually have made fairly good workers rather than just being hurry fodder.

Oh alright, but I couldn't afford it anyways, so no big deal.

Yeah. If you had chosen to not go for the request then that would have been a minor face palm, but not much you can do about a lack of funds.

Ilios converts to RoK as I suspected he would.

Stupid skeleton that Barnaxus was following decided to go occupy a cotton field, and I couldn't let him stand there and steal money from me, so I had Michelangelo kill him instead, since it would take two turns for Barnaxus to reach him. Barnaxus kills the skeleton on the barrow instead, getting him 2 exp and his first promotion next turn. No idea where to go next though. Can't see any other barbs around. Gonna try going a bit west I think. Don't have time to wait for the barrow to spawn more skeles.

Nothing else going on. 11 turns or so for Mud Golem, 5 turns for settler, 1 turn until Mutanbo growth and 2 turns until its sculptors studio is done. Speaking of the settler I don't have any spare warriors to defend it. i can take one from Mutanbo I guess, maybe two since it'll be getting wood golems soon. I don't want to waste turns in Ithralia and Mutanbo by building some there. Cotton Valley will create some, but that's over 10 turns away.

Also, question:

Ilios asked me if I had any luxury resources to trade. I don't want to say no to a trade and maybe tip him off that i'm planning something, so I said I had cotton available for trade, he has surplus wine and gold. He says we're gonna have a trade route soon, which I guess means he's roading between the ruins city and Mutanbo, and wants to trade. If I say no it feels like i have something to hide. If I accept a trade, I can cancel it any time after 10 turns have gone now right? So if I accept one on turn 70, I can cancel and attack Ilios after turn 80 without any problems. Just making sure.
