Looks like we've dropped to third in crop yield too. That should change as we get our happy cap raised and get our cities working more tiles.
I don't think we'll see an attack in the south. The cities i saw there were undefended or underdefended as well. These rb-pbems have evolved a metagame that favors risking fast expansion, so as long as everyone is dong that we should be okay. The tricky bit is we are coming into the part where lands are running out, and that's when wars typically start.
Speaking of lands... We all seem to be on a thing snake of land in the center. I wonder what surprises are in store to the far east and west? Certainly there is some bonus for being the first civ to astronomy on this map.
I don't think there's any reason to risk the impi, even if it's only 10% odds of losing. We are still many turns away from heroic epic, and even quite a few turns from being able to capture the barb city. Let's wait for another to come out. Although perhaps we should get some axes soon for that.

I was wondering about the east-west edges also. Since the map isn't toroidal, there probably isn't a whole lot of space out there- it might be completely empty. Astronomy will already be huge, just for the threat of galleons. But there might also be more island out there- it would be nice to get some gems or more gold.

Peeked at the save, mackoti took out the silver & ivory part of the deal and counter-offered OB for gifting us marble. Probably still worth it if we're going to Calendar. We can always cancel when MoM is built (hopefully by us).

Hmm I was really hoping he'd do the silver too. Anyone else with silver but no ivory?

Fierce has gems but no ivory. He's probably the one who got squeezed out in all this.
Oh, be sure to swap Scavenger Hunt over to work the fish. It's still on the silk.
I'm gonna step away for a bit, gotta go burn off some pbem26 frustration.

Alright I went ahead and accepted the open borders deal with mackoti. Then I did some wheeling and dealing:
canceled the fish to mackoti, and proposed ivory for silver
proposed ivory for gems to Fierce
proposed open borders to NS7 for silver
Hopefully at least one of these deals goes through. Then, we might have a chance at circumnav, but we might also have to think about closing borders to Yuris or NS7 if it looks like they'll get it first.
Something interesting I noticed: apparently NS7 declared war on Yuris at some point? When did that happen??? If they snagged a free settler at the beginning, it would explain a lot about how they grew so fast.
And here's a screenshot of a funny bug.

Went to play the save this morning and was greeted to another proposal of Open Borders from NoSpace. Certainly they see our boats on either end of their territory so they figure now's the time to ask. I'm inclined to accept but I'd like your input on it too.

Not much to do this turn so I played it quickly. I settled ConanDestroyer on the small island by Fierce. Next turn we should turn research back on, and start positioning workers so they can chop the MoM (probably in Hercules) as soon as calender is done.

So this is really annoying. A barb warrior wandered onto one of our mines, and our impi is still injured so I didn't want to risk it.
The barb will probably pillage that mine, so I've decided to build the MoM in Raw Deal, instead. Raw Deal can get more hammers faster, still has 2 forests available for chopping, and has more pop available for whipping (4). Besides, it'll give the capital something to build, since that city has already built all other available buildings.
I've also done some strange city micro, getting almost every available commerce so that we can hopefully finish calender next turn at breakeven research.

Alright, we had just enough commerce to finish calender this turn, which will help a lot. Finally our big cities can start growing again. Also, we'll start building the MoM in Raw Deal.
I founded ConanDestroyer in the southeast corner, with a worker set up to immediately finish its granary, and a workboat on the way. The funny thing is, this will actually trap NS7's galley for a few turns, until our borders pop.
In the north, I stopped our impi on top of Mackoti's iron. I'm hoping to subtly hint to him that I'd like to launch a joint attack against NS7 with knights.
