That's weird, I haven't seen the panel but are there any other dump/log options?

Doesn't vBulletin have an option to download the dump directly? I'm mostly familiar with Simplemachines myself.

You can take backups of single tables via direct download, but not a whole database backup. That goes in a directory and vBulletin expects you to access it as a normal file.

I'm not particularly inclined to click through 200+ tables for single manual backups, especially because that includes private messages and personal user info. But maybe it's important enough that I'll try to script up something.

It wouldn't be too hard as long as you know all the names.

I have a simple request for administrators that would make my life on RB forums so much better. My PM box is too small, it is cluttered by messages again and again. People make a lot of PM contacts and it inevitably overflows. Often, when I come back after a while, the box is full (and I spend half an hour emptying the useless messages).


Could the 50 PM limit be increased, please? I'd say 100 PMs at least, if possible.
If not for everybody (for some space reason), then at least for people with >X posts or for people who expressly ask for it? Current setting really annoys me.

Thirded, it's been bugging me too.

Ok, bumped to 200. No idea why the default limit is 50, space doesn't seem to be a meaningful constraint. I ran a backup of the private message db table just to gauge the size and it came out to only 2 MB.

Also while poking around I think I figured out how to allow everyone to change their own thread titles, so you can stop poking me for that. I'm not 100% sure if it takes effect for old threads posted before the change, someone can try if they like.
