[Spoiler] Team slowwalk of the Reservoir Cats (Suleiman/Korea, slowcheetah + Catwalk)

We aren't particularly far behind in number of cities yet, and we have whipped quite a few places recently. Hopefully our crop yield should pick up comparatively when e actually grow some places.

1240BC or Turn 46 (Huzzah I know the turn number)

Tundra Intrigue

Upon opening the save I discovered Dazed's unprotected worker standing next to our scout and more dangerously spacetyrantxenu (the man who wont NAP). This is intriguing, Dazed could be in for a big shock next turn or maybe Xenu only told us he didn't do NAP's?

Moving the scout produced further intrigue, a warrior of dazedroyaltys, parked only two tiles away from our proposed city 5. Is the warrior a sentry, or is the worker roading towards him to found a city? Dazed says the warrior is not currently standing on any city sites.

We really need vision on those three blank tiles in the middle of the tundra. I'm almost certain one of them holds a source of silver. Possibly move the warrior from city 4, just briefly?

Domestics
We are still doing badly in the demographics (although we are 2 in GNP, presumably due to oracle culture).

Headache
The pasture completed so I had it work the cows, it currently has +2 whip anger, please don't whip it until the whip anger has gone. Next turn it can have the corn back, because Dirty Dishes will be able to grow to the happy cap without it. The worker on the cows should move south and cottage the riverside grassland.

Didn't Do Dishes
Is working the ivory tile in order to get masonry in 2 turns rather than three. I believe the corn farm will finish next turn, so it can use that to grow. Should build a worker after a warrior. After completing the corn farm the farmer should move down to road the copper, and then mine the grasshillmine at Jaw Hurting.

Jaw Hurting
Whip Workboat this turn (not next turn as the sign idiotically says) and put the overflow into a worker, grow to two on a granary then complete the worker.

City 4
Still building a granary, possibly switch to a forge next turn.

Additionally xenu asked for an open borders agreement, I've said a provisional yes but we both need sailing before we get any benefit anyway. I'd also like a no scouting agreement at least initially to go with the open borders.

After typing up all that we get another turn in and I have to type some more :P.

We found out where Dazed is going to plant his city, our scout is atop his settler ready to discover teleportation next turn. I did ask Dazed and he confirmed that was where the city is going to be founded.

This opens up a dilemma, if we settle in our planned position Xenu will be without silver. However, he appears to be expanding slower than everyone else (except us). Maybe we could see if we can convince Sian to take his southern rather than easter silver? In any case we need a settler down there sharpish. The capital can start one next turn (should be able to knock it out in three turns if we play with the micro). We also need a bigger workforce down there. The worker next to capital should move over to on her period, rather than cottaging. I think we should shuffle some warriors around as well, so we have some sentries in the tundra. On her period should put a turn into the 'mids next turn, because i believe you need to put a turn of production into something before engineer rushing.

Thoughts?

Tried to post yesterday. Sian agrees to let us have the northern silver, and I discussed a bit with xenu about where he wants to settle. Nothing final yet, but I think it can be sorted out.

I started workers in JH and HA and a settler in DD.

Hello again, Catwalk and slowcheetah! :wink2: Been a while since I have had time to follow this game, a lot has happened.

Ouch on the city placement by the ivory! cry Lack of local exploration can really bite hard, although distant exploration did get you circumnavigation which will have value as the game goes on. You still have some unexplored tiles directly SE of your capital which could use a visit, although you seem to be rather short of units at the moment.

The demos don't look very good at the moment, but you did get the Oracle for early MC and look to have a very strong shot at the Pyramids. Early Rep for your specialists and even more happiness will certainly be a huge boost and will make up some of the deficit.

What are your maintenance costs looking like at this point? Those flood plains are just sitting there, crying out for a city or two. lol

Welcome back haphazard1 smile Total city costs are 11 right now, half each on distance and number costs. I don't recall how much they went up with the latest city, I'm guessing around 4. Flood plains will receive high priority soon, we wanted to make sure we didn't get blocked out of silver in the tundra area.

Ain't it grand?! No crippling tiny map maintenance to deal with!

I didn't mind the costs that much, actually. The initial surprise foiled whatever plans I had, but other than that I found it rather interesting to play with. The land was sufficiently lush that we still wanted to grab fairly aggressively. If Cull had stayed in the game, we would all have found ourselves squeezed fairly soon and whoever got another city or two out of it would have had a decent advantage. With Cull being out of the competition, I think expansion mattered too little.

slowcheetah, how would you feel about delaying our silver city in favour of one closer to home first? We're sending a warrior down there to stake out a claim, I think we will have time. We also need the worker manpower to make use of the site.

I think we should found the silver site now, itd be good to establish some sort of cultura control in the area. As far as worker manpower goes, we have two workers roading there now, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Alright then. Should our next two cities be horses/sheep/stone and FP/copper? I probably won't be around to play for most of today.
