Not sure this makes any sense, and might even be backwards. The game has been out so long you'd expect there to be a fair number of latent-skilled players lying around who for whatever reason never played pitboss mp, and could adjust playstyle to mp decently well (certainly enough to explain Haram's play) by reading a few reports.

I agree with dtay.
Speaking of whom, welcome back! Feels like you've been mostly out of it for a few weeks, hope all is well.

IIRC, Haram is from another civ site? I seem to remember his name from the PB14 sign ups.

Ya all's fine, just had a busy stretch of classwork. Should have more time in the next month for reporting besides single sentences above screenshots... And maybe actually tell anyone anything about PB22...

I misunderstood the post in the first place. He left out the words for a new player . So my entire post would never be written in the first place.
Dtay I feel that there is too many tricks for a new player to pick up and be as good as a vet. The hole of lack of experience is just too hard to dig out of without raising suspicion. It's possible to be that good but a sockpuppet is more likely. Experience is a huge advantage. For example it took six months or so to knock out FP out of the number#1 spot on CivPlayers--he had the advantage of being a beta-tester.

New to Realms != new to civ. Is Gavagai a sock puppot? He got experience elsewhere before arriving.

I agree with this but if he was not new to Civ this would not really be his first game, like Commodore said. This would have been his first game at realms beyond.

Commodore did not specify which interpretation he meant, but it seems reasonable to suppose he meant "first game here" and not "first game ever". Unless Haram said something in his thread that he'd never played before, how could Commodore know the latter?

So, bunch of people have noted Mack getting MilSci.
All swords get baseline C1.
Is someone about to get Mason'd?

Yes, Haram has played in PB14 (although I think not the whole time), and before that on Polish MP civ site, which is supposed to be quite good. Agree Haram has played very well, but as somebody mention your neighbors are most crucial game setting.
