That's not what Krill was talking about.

I don't know, he might have been talking about the PB2 lurker thread. He did say civ-related, not player thread. We'll have to wait for him, of course.

More game related: Can anyone point me to where the invasion of India/evacuation took place here? I've looked through a fair amount of the thread but haven't yet' found it. I definitely want to read that part.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Well he said CIV game thread. The lurker thread isn't a game thread. And the number doesn't match up with that thread either.

If you guys are gonna look for biggest civ-related thread, I think the ISDG thread is like 4500 posts and counting. Both the in-game and the diplo ones.

The idea was born here

On a side note, in hindsight it's fun to watch us go through the different stages of grief as Commodore whoops on us early on.

On another side note, oddly I don't feel the same sense of dread now that I did then. The early war felt hopeless. This war feels winnable. I know that sounds crazy even typing it, but I feel like we can cause some damage.

Yeah start reading from that link pindicator posted. Also I checked - the next roughly 20 pages (at 20 posts/page so adjust accordingly) are the build-up, invasion, and conquest of India. By far the most fun part of the game to play and probably to read about too.

I don't think this war feels winnable at all lol. Like I said, tower defense, he'll get us eventually. I do think if he doesn't break us soon, we will have ended his chances of winning. Or, better put, he will have ended his chance of victory.

Also, that tower defence list is OP.

Is this true? The longest thread I can find is Spulla's PB2 (of course) which is only 2419 replies.

Ours has less than 2419 replies soo.... Not seeing the problem. (it was probably about 131 when he posted that I'm guessing)

edit: whoa whoa did I just Noble you?

Here, I'll put it a better way: This wave feels winnable.

Krill's post was post #2345 and therefore reply #2344. 2419 - 2344 is not 131.

And the discussion of Krill's miscount (I suspect that's all it was) is getting us ever closer, anyway.
