What I need to add to master.cas or what code I need in order for me to mod stat/ability FireBreath in CreateUnit.cas?
I try to create effect of unit with 3 chaos channel effect on same unit and found firebreath effect would overwrite original fire breath value completely, I want to write script to avoid unit with fire breath in put this enchantment on, or if possible I want to rewrite stat of unit upon creation by give them +4 fire breath on top its original stat upon creation by SETSTAT instead. Oh, I was a little distracted writing that. Mainly I wanted to ask if anyone has seen the working Dispel effects of Nightshade ingame. What could be the difference between "AIheroslot" in UNITS.INI and "AIPreference" in herodata.ini? Only some Champions have different values here: Illusionist, Necromancer, Chosen = 6 & 8; Priestess, Paladin, Black Knight, Chaos Warrior = 6 & 7. Does AI research pace and spell of mastery war happened faster as difficulty go up or I just have mess up abnormally game (with Doomsday appear as early as 1510, Enlightenment as early as 1512, Planetary mastery as early as 1514)? And if time for research and spell of mastery faster as difficulty go up, what is estimate time for spell of mastery war at each difficulty level? I don't think there's anything specific for spell of mastery. But in general, higher difficulty means the pace is faster. The AI gets additional research bonus -- as well as power bonuses. Plus they can treasure hunt -- and snowball even faster. In your case, Enlightenment while dominating population can lead to very early spell of mastery.
Is there some way to toggle between Range Attacking and Melee Attacking?
Just picked up Casters of Magic and have noticed a lot of options to add ranged attacks to your melee units. Problem is, I don't always want to use those ranged attacks but I'm forced too.
Anybody notice that the AI isn't as aggressive in Caster of Magic for Windows compared to the original Caster of Magic? At the very least, they don't seem to expand as aggressively.

At the very least, they don't seem to expand as aggressively. well, they are very expansive in my caster of magic for windows gameplays, so expansive in-fact that I often see their towns destroyed by rampaging monsters... which means they sometime expand beyond their ability to defend themselves. it also depends on the wizard character, I am guessing an "Expansionist" wizard will expand more than a Perfectionist one..., I am playing in Advanced difficulty. About aggressiveness, in my gameplays, if they think they are stronger and they are near me, they will attack. also if they have the "aggressive" or "Maniacal", they will be more inclined to attack. if they have the "peaceful" trait, I guess they will attack less... and be less aggressive.
The AI bonuses were tuned down -- and additional phatasm difficulty level was added. So if you're playing the same level -- the AI has generally less bonus in the windows version.
Also, the windows AI is better at judging if an attack will succeed. So it will be more conservative in attacking your cities -- if you have strong garrisons. |
