Nakor Wrote:Okay, I'll build some more military. We now have something like 2 warriors, 2 axes, 2 chariots? Real cardboard military. Can't build spears yet.
3 warriors, 2 axes, 1 chariot.
Serdoa Wrote:Military. Can you give me an overview of what we have so far? We might have to get a few units now and then get to LBs ourselves fast. Depends on sunrise but if he attacks like that, then we have to have enough defenses around. Nakor Wrote:Do you suggest we tech towards Monarchy - Archery - Feudalism before going Currency/Calender?
I think that is a good plan. LBs are the only unit we are anywhere close to on the tech tree that could defend well against Sunrise on their own. Perhaps we should pick up Hunting for spears as well?
Since we have research visibility on Sunrise, we might be able to determine his plans based on what he researches after Math. If it is Construction, we will need a LOT more defenses.

Why is there a worker there?! If Plako has a worker out in the middle of nowhere, then that must mean that he is either colonizing the islands as well or that this so-called island is actually the eastern tip of the Pangaea!

Hey, I had some spare time for once, so I skimmed the Diplo thread for mentions of contact between players and made a grand chart of the results:
Obviously this does not scale with physical location, but it does appear to give an idea about the various cells of players on the pangaea.

Anyway, I set Nero on a barracks. I figure that we should build one at some point, and now is as good a time as any. A library is tempting, but right now I don't think the extra research is enough yet to justify building something other than much-needed military.
Research turned to Hunting--one or two spears would be quite helpful for fending off War Chariot incursions, and we'll need it eventually for Archery.
Plako founded a colony:
Nijmegen is the default Dutch name for the fifth city. I find it interesting that Plako's using an archer to defend it.
At this point, my connection started getting patchy and someone else was trying to log in, so I called it quits midway through the turn (someone still needs to move the workers).

Beside the fact that your remote access put a pretty trippy halo around the archer, what did you find interesting about it?

Ended our turn after moving the units.
Micro's Nero for growth/commerce and decided on a Axe instead of a Barracks. I feel that we need units now, promoted or not.

Make sure we have at least one spear in the cap as well Nakor. Would be a shame if he came with chariots or HAs - though looking at his jungle city, I think it might be possible that he didn't have horses (there are horses where he settled, right?) and settled for that city only to get them. It's a shame sunrise has gotten such a good start that he is not willing to even try to befriend Rome, despite that he must know that we don't have Iron (he should see Praets otherwise). But he seems to be far stretched by now - how much is his empire spanning, 20 tiles between west and east end (that we can see or assume at least)?

Yeah, great job, Tatan!
Seems like I can't login now. LP and Plako are in the game...
We can start spears in Nero and Caesar this turn and keep the uncompleted chariot and axe in the build que.

Hey guys, are you ready to take over for a few days?
We need to decide on where to settle on the island:
Not a lot more going on.
