And no, being France has nothing to do with 'constantly surrendering.'

Hey now, SAT was the one who is in the process of conquering Sian for Lebensraum. He's getting 3 whole cities out the whole shebang, with almost 15 population amongst them. My war on Sian was simply to nip something called Cataphracts in the bud before it could blossom into something ugly enough to strangle its neighbours.
In fact, I'm not sure why you're attacking ![huh huh](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/huh.gif) . You thought I hadn't noticed your power spikes, and already started precautions? What do you possibly have that could threaten me? What units could you have possibly peeled from your other fronts, you know, the ones with a neighbour that invaded you in the past? Surely you've noticed that I have significantly more food than you, and that I'm not shy with using the whip.
So bring it, I'll shut down the attack like every other one. And by doing so, you're forfeiting the boon from earlier. Meanwhile, your openly hostile western neighbour is not going to stagnate like you. If I were in his shoes, I'd look at both neighbours invading in the opposite directions, smile, rub my hands, and build up for a timing attack on the weaker of them.

And you could have had the basic courtesy of delaying this attack until *after* I'd helped to wipe out the person who regularly takes 20 hours to play the save

Yeah you're right. I'm much better off just letting Mr. Pyramids-tech lead-city advantage to my right have fun with all of his cute toys, only to later have to deal with the snowball of those advantages and then getting attacked by crossbows instead of attacking with HAs.
A sound plan. I should definitely take all of my strategic counsel from my opponent. In fact, I think I'll just turn them around and fight thestick to give you and SAT an even better chance at winning. How bout it, stick? Feel like slowly receding into obscurity with me in a never-ending war?

Well, we did attack to gain access to resources. And Japan is supposed to be a heavily test based culture. And Sareln is on the west coast of the US - so the whole pacific thing kind of works.

Well, I personally always give sound advice to my opponents. Just ask my boardgame friends.

I can vouch for the veracity of this statement.

Still feeling kinda maligned with the whole WWII reference. Isn't there a trope for it at this point? Every war is WWII?
