Steam Winter Sale 2014 has just started!

These games are stupidly expensive even while heavily discounted. Dark Souls 2 full game is 40€ at -66%, and Rocksmith 2014 full game is 1100€ at -66%, and that doesn't even include the cable you need to actually play the game. Ahoy, I guess.
Yeah, most of the "sales" appear to be discounts off the release price, for games which haven't normally retailed for 50 or 60 bucks for months.
They aren't even offering any exclusive TF2 loot for crafting the Winter Sale badges this year. Lame. Dark Souls 2 full game is 40€ at -66%, I still think this would not be too bad a price for the game with all DLCs, but in april an upgraded Dark Souls 2 including all DLCs and DX11 support will be released ("DS2: Scholars of the First Sin"). The way it looks right now, an upgrade path will not be available from the current version, so I am going to wait. Shocking to see it's not...
I grabbed "Valiant Hearts" on the recent flash sale for ~5 Euros, interesting approach and definitely worth that kind of money.

Endless Legend is such a good game.

"Brothers: A Tale of two Sons" is only 1.49 Euros at the moment. I highly recommend to grab it if you own a controller.
I guess most of you have noticed already, but in case you haven't: The STEAM Summer Sale has started!
Hurry to fill your library with more games which you will most likely not be able to finish until the Winter Sale begins!
Picked up Grim Fandango and Valkaria Chronicles for a combined 15 bucks, probably all I'll get this round; got tons of games to occupy me after I finish with Witcher 3.
Edit: I am also a little tempted to get the X-Com complete pack, since it's inexplicably cheaper than purchasing just the Enemy Within DLC, but I'm not sure if that will allow me to retain the duplicate copy of Enemy Unknown as a Steam gift (which I would trade away for TF2 stuff). I'm pretty sure that the package is treated as one unit so the choices are binary, however you may get a discount from already having Enemy Unknown. You can make sure by ordering and see what happens before you confirm. |
