I am away Thu night. MH - you still there? You still interested? Can you fill in for a turn? I will write up detailed instructions tomorrow night for the Thu turn.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Turn 74 - 1040 BC

This turn is all about stupid barb movements. Why don't they move where I want them to move?

First off - the barb that is inside my borders and has been wandering around keeps to the forests and moves (black line below) to a tile that threatens WSP as well as the worker that is improving the sheep. The pasture only has 1 turn to go (aggg!). The downside - wasted worker actions - the worker moves to a plains hill (1 tile south of WSP) to road (need that road to hook up the fur happiness). The upside - you cannot pillage a non complete improvement smile.

The zone defense warrior moves into WSP.

Regarding the other barbs (bear / warrior) ... they were on the tiles indicated by signs last turn ... they both moved together onto the forest. My chariot would have been attacking the warrior at about 60% odds (not this time). I will leave them for this turn. The chariot moves off to look more into the fog. My woodie II warrior runs past the barbs to the tile 1 south of the 'warrior' sign.

In other news ... Boston is the #2 city and is set to grow this turn. It could be the #1 city next turn.

War declaration from BGN. Last time I looked, he had a scout in the area. Is he just scouting for map info?

Quote:Ruff/m_h,

I declared war on you this turn (T74) so I will be playing after you until this war is over. I am only communicating this because I will very likely be away from civ tomorrow most of the day, leaving home no later than 6:30a and probably not returning until tomorrow evening. I cannot leave specific instructions for a lurker depending on how you decide to respond, so if you are able to play your T75 tonight that would help me out. If you are unable to play (and I do NOT mean to rush you into playing if it is inconvenient) that is fine, just kindly let me know and I'll come up with another option for covering my turn tomorrow.

Sorry for declaring war and then immediately asking for a favor. lol

I copied Commodore as a lurker so that this out of game communication would be above board.

Cheers,

BGN

Can I log in this turn and take a look? What are the rules re turn splits?

Turn 75 - 1000 BC

Pictures are placeholders. Text and discussion to come in tomorrow. Quickie ... forgot to check if Boston hit #1 before I whipped it frown.

Boston

Boston just grew and the galley will finish next round. I whipped it anyway so that we can get a chariot (I think I put it into the queue) for Barb coverage. I was planning on playing a little more conservative with this chariot (ie no attacking barbs without good odds or without good reason).

After the chariot, plan was to finish the spear and then work on a lighthouse. We might be running into a happiness cap - if so - settler for Logan.

There is one cottage that it can work (currently being worked by Lynn) but it needs more. The two workers just completing the farm / road at Marblehead should stay in the region and put down some cottages for Lynn / Boston.

Cambridge

Cambridge is at its happy cap after a double whip. It will take a while to cool down (another 10t or so). I have it on a worker at the moment.

There are two workers who just finished a plains cottage. Please split one off to go to Lynn (1t of cottage into tile directly north of Cambridge on the way, 1t of road on tile south of sheep) with the other (depending on barb movement) heading to WSP (grassland cottage turn on the way). If the Barb does move to threaten the southern moving worker, then send him with the other and make it 2t of work.

Lynn

Lynn is currently building a WB for Marblehead. Marblehead has two good tiles to work so it won't need the WB for a while ... but if we can knock it out ... fine. One of the Cambridge workers is heading to Lynn and should cottage the tiles as indicated (starting with the tile 2S of the city.

W State Park

This will be a future Heroic Epic city ... but it needs food. I moved the worker back to finish the sheep pasture this turn. Next he should return to the plains hill and road (or the forest and road) heading towards the fur ... need the happy income.

There is another worker coming from Cambridge that will help bring the 2nd sheep on line.

Marblehead

Grow - work the wheat and copper ... crabs / oysters if netted. Not really much to do here for a while.

Exploring & Newly Finished Units

The galley out of Boston is heading south. The explorer scout out of WSP is aiming to board the galley before going further south for the two huts. After picking up the huts, the scout should be dropped on the western land mass and should try and make contact with any other players over there.

The exploring units in the east (warrior / chariot) should head further east. I would suggest the warrior move onto the wine ... less change of landing beside a barb. The chariot ... either E or NE?

Boldly Being A Royal Pain in the Butt (BBARPitB)

Ignore him. He is only after transit rights to get further west to find others. He doesn't know it is a dead end full of barbs. I don't expect to see that scout again - it will be killed by a barb.

Maybe he just wanted to save the scout from the barb? Weird DoW.

OK, so T76 is "my" turn and I have to play before BGN, correct?

Yes - correct on both counts. That said ... if we wanted to be bastards, I will be back at about 8pm tomorrow and I could play the turn very late. Nah - play the damn thing (when it rolls).
