Ride to ruin and the world's ending! (TBS, Becko & Joao)

Hehe, thanks Molach and glad to have you along.
Gaspar and Oxy made peace though, looks like some cities changed hands in the process. Gaspar is now even in city count with me(26). I still think Oxy is the place to attack, but there's no rush now, so I'm going to take my time. It looks like I can get the majority of my first round cavs in place to enter Oxy territory on T161, along with my current catapults and as many rifles as I can draft. I have to figure out if Lavendar Gooms is takeable Pre-Astronomy. A 3rd island would be lovely but all attacks have to be amphibious and Oxy's scout sits in The Searchers. My other chariot found what must be the majority of his army garrisoning a city near Gaspar. Oh, and his last turn took all of 2 minutes. Going to be pretty impossible to hide my units from his scout next turn, we'll see if that gets a reaction. We're finally riding:
Damn, he got this turn down to 1 minute. My hour long turns hardly seem fair.
Regarding the turn split, I have been playing before Oxy for quite a while. However it looks like he and Gaspar have been keeping up their turnsplit, Gaspar playing after Oxy during peacetime. Obviously a 3 way split makes little sense and this is the last turn I think I could reasonably change spots. However, given that Oxy and Gaspar still have enforced peace I think it makes the most sense for the two of them to switch. Especially since me and Gaspar seem to be able to log in earlier than Oxy. Does this seem fair to the lurkers, Xenu?
Peace time splits are ridiculous. Play and declare on the slice you want to. As the first player into a war I don't see there being an onus on you to help preserve someone else's peace time split. If you want to go first or second just play that slice the turn before and the turn of the war declaration.
If anyone joins in the war later it will be up to them to not cause delays in the game by joining the proper turn slice. And I just realized this isn't the game I'm admin for, so this is all my unofficial position. If anyone has a problem I can post this in the tech thread if needed and players can vote or something. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Thanks Xenu, seems they got fed up waiting for Oxy this turn anyway.
So did I actually, so I logged in to evaluate some techs. I'm picking up Constitution next and then it looks like Corporation before a Communism run. If I look in danger then I'll go Communism first. As it is, I'd say I'm 13t away. Probably Democracy after that, but I don't know where to build the SoL if McLintock is busy with the Kremlin. I suppose the capital will be a reasonable spot if I revolt into Universal Suffrage. Biology looks ok value, Medicine(Sushi) looks awesome. Steam Power isn't quite worth it for the levees alone. Most other techs depend on the military situation. I probably could manage a 4 person GA but it's borderline whether it's worth the trouble. Also, Commodore's army has disappeared: Smelling blood elsewhere maybe? Oxy's border city with him is now the same one as with Gaspar and he has a big force there at least. I wonder if dtay will retake this city, he has the units for it. (July 2nd, 2014, 01:33)Becko Wrote: I'm off on a three-week trip starting today. I think I've arranged wifi, so please keep updating, still! Subbing will be difficult though. Becko, I need you! So, uh, yeah. Helluva trip; long story. Sorry for bailing on your thread for a while. Fortunately, my limited responsibilities have been assumed admirably by Molach, so I'll just keep on lurking passively but dedicatedly. All the same, my name is still, somehow, in the thread title, so I do feel I have to contribute something. Hmm. Well, let's bring out a motivational picture:
Hope the trip was a fun one, glad to know you're still around. In order to start realising that picture, we kicked things off a turn early:
Stole a worker, got Lt Brannigan his 3rd promo. I had to delete the chariot on the other side of Oxy's empire I'm afraid. Why did we kick it off early? There was no way to hide my main rifle stack from Oxy's scout anymore: and our 2-movers can quite possibly take out Hollawhatever: We are also threatening Lavendar Gooms: This was originally a draftee job but I realised 2 promo cavs should get odds, so I brought some along. The rapidly assembled army: True Grit about to level out at size 17: Overview +demos: Also of interest is this zulu armada: Thoth has no island cities down there, so that is very suspicious. |
