Turn 51-
Pyramids.
We also finished 3 more workers, we now have 7. We are pretty lacking militarily though.
In less shiny news we are last in every demographic (if we weren't in anarchy we wouldn't be last in GNP).
Here is our empire:
We'll be settling our tundra city in two turns:
Rest of the Cities
Headache
Dirty Dishes
Jaw Hurting
On Her Period
If any Lurkers want any different information let me know.

I don't think that's true... in fact I'm almost certain it's not. pretty easy to sim tho.

Flower Shortage founded in the middle of the tundra sector next to the northern silver. Our research rate is beyond atrocious now, good thing we're opening foreign trade routes next turn. We're working hard on getting our specialist economy up and running, which means lots of growth in our cities.

Soo... Sian came knocking with two chariots on the doorstep of Flower Shortage. We hissed and threatened to claw him, and eventually capitulated since we only had a warrior there. He agreed to compensate us with a settler in exchange for a t75 NAP, pretty good deal for us all things considered.
The mistakes are piling up for us this game, we need to get back in the saddle. I'm still optimistic about our chances, provided we start messing up a lot less. We also need to start making proper updates again.

Ok thats actually a reaonable result, nice work on getting a settler
compensation.
I took a look at the save the only helpful result of this is that we can now get sailing in two at 60%.
I dont want to actually play the turn because I am unsure as to what exactly is going on diplomatically (and with some of the workers, what's with the two SW of dirty dishes?).
I do have some suggestions for builds though-
Headache- Spearman, followed by settler- Infra is pretty much complete here so keep repeating (although obviously vary the military unit).
Dirty Dishes- Once the library completes (whip?) build a galley to investigate the sea.
Jaw hurting- Is out of improved tiles, and is crapper then everywhere else so needs infra next, build a worker.
Period- Complete granary then two pop whip a lib.
I have been giving proper updates at least intermittenetly :P

Diplo update:
1) xenu and dazed both tried to help us save Flower Shortage (dazed was willing to gift us the warrior next to it and xenu was willing to send reinforcements if we held off the chariots), but we had to turn both offers down. We allowed Sian to raze FS and have signed a t75 NAP. Also, I originally declined Sian's offer and told him we'd fight. This was before we knew he had two chariots approaching. Not sure if this helped soften him up or if he was just feeling charitable. He will resettle the silver city on top of the silver.
2) xenu is planning on sending a survival training expedition up to explore Sian's new city and maybe rough it up a little
3) We got duped (maybe) into offering Sian OB for 10t, as we need to OB in order for him to gift us the settler. And it seems we can't cancel OB for 10t after signing it ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) Have informed xenu of this, haven't met dazed yet. Since we have a pact to not OB Sian, this might have a bit of fallout.
4) xenu is generously letting us settle the E silver in a favourable spot, we owe him a favour for this. He intends to make good on the favour by dragging us into a catpile on Sian in the foreseeable future, sometime after our NAP expires.

Flower Shortage was a first rate name, I hope you refound the city!
I ran into the same OB problem in 25g, I hope your ally is as flexible as mine was there. :-)

Seeing as how I actually did go and get flowers for my wife for Valentine's Day today, Flower Shortage will be put to rest. Next city will be named "Folding Towels Wrong" if that will fit.
I decided to start barracks in Headache instead, seeing as our imminent unit need is minor. Might as well get a promotion on them. However, I assume we'll want to build settlers and workers in our big cities generally the way our empire is positioned. We want 3 specialists in most of our cities, raising the value of our food surplus. Headache doesn't really need to grow further at this time, and it's a high hammer city for good settler production.
In other news, Sian has noticed xenu's expeditionary force and warned us that his promised settler will be delayed if xenu keeps threatening him. xenu suggests that we demand Sian lives up to the terms of the deal or the NAP is off. I'm leaning towards thinking that's a bit too strict, seeing as Sian was rather generous in our agreement with him. He had no real need to offer us anything. However, how about using it as an excuse to swap the settler for the Colossus?
Our economy is booming, greatly aided by the 4 specialists we're employing (engineer in DD and HA, scientists in HA). We landed a great prophet in HA (20% chance of engineer), what should we do with it? I think we should plan on using a great engineer to get MoM, we need Currency first and we can't afford risking losing it.

Barracks sounds fine, and I agree with capital pumping settlers. However, we should alternate each settler with some military so we dont get caught with our trousers down (again).
Threatening to cancel the NAP due to a delay Sian couldn't have forseen is way too harsh. Also we still only have 1 axe! Trying to trade the settler for the Colossus is also out in my opinion, we signed that bugger away fair and square. Besides it's not like we are going to use it much anyway.

I agree that we'd be playing dirty against Sian if we were to hold him squarely to that agreement. We wouldn't technically be breaking a deal ourselves, but it would likely be frowned upon. I do think the offer of trading the settler for the Colossus is fair, though. It would swap a short-term asset for a long-term asset, and right now he has short-term issues to deal with. Colossus is not a bad wonder at all, it's dirt cheap with copper hooked up (162 double speed hammers). I'd almost be happy with grabbing it for the GPP alone and the 6 or so seafood/lake tiles we'll be working in the near future.
It would be unfair to cancel the wonder deal because of this, but wouldn't it be okay to make him the offer?
