Well Novice, mainly it just didn't add up with Brick. I mean, his Kassandra reveal was nice, if a bit sloppy.

But more than that, it was the torturer that convinced me. With only 2 mislynches before lylo, it would seem prudent to reveal ones self as a torturer to prevent a mislynch.

So you voted for BRick because the torturer wouldn't have left him hanging (pardon the pun) in the vote lead, was that it? And what do you mean, nice but sloppy? A good idea but poor execution?

Also, why did you feel it was necessary to role claim today? Looking back to day 1, BRick was clearly pushing to make sure that if anybody was tortured, it would be you. Shouldn't that exonerate you?

If I read Serdoa right there could be some unwanted consequences to torturing someone, so we should only do it under certain circumstances. I intended to play normally until we got to a point where someone was a quasi-unanimous target (and where most of the discussion is centered on whether that person is guilty or not). Then that person becomes a good torture target. But such situations don't happen all the time.

Adrien, given this, why did you vote to torture MA?

Did you have a read on someone specific as the likely torturer?
If you know what I mean.

Jeez ...

Anyone pushing me on Day 1 doesnt count bc I was largely afk. Whether I was Town or Wolf would not have mattered.

and yea, good idea but poor execution. Honestly at that point though, I don't think he could have gotten away with it. I mean I re-read his reveal post ... and it just wasn't convincing at all. But hey, maybe that's hindsight. But even then, I don't think Torturer would have "left Brick to hang"

I role revealed because I knew Wolves probably changed their kill to Gaz afte my post (Serdoa said he would be late) ...

I should have known that I wasnt going to get night-killed b/c lurkers are rarely nightkilled. Hence I should have kept my mouth shut regardless. So by role revealing, its avoiding another mislynch. I think its worth risking a night-kill, b/c someone is going to get killed at night anyways, and even if the Torturer reveals today (and I think that, depending on torture results, he or she might have to reveal), i can protect him tonight (and I'll probably get killed in the process).

If we lynch a Wolf either today or tomorrow, it will be less severe if Doctor is killed Night 2/ Torturer killed Night 3 than it otherwise would be, due to only 1 wolf being left.

At the time we were all thinking he might be modkilled, so he would have made a good experiment. We'd have seen what Serdoa was doing with the torturing thing and the torturer could have a better understanding of his power by actually using it. I couldn't see another good target. I didn't (and still don't) buy Gazglum's theory about torture getting worse and worse for village, I think the side effect depends on the wrongly tortured hero's background. Therefore there was no side effect in doing it on a soon-to-be-dead person.

I largely agree with Adriener here ...

also, I'd like to add that Torture result probably depends on the person's power. Torture X, he loses his power, Torture Y, he becomes minion, Torture Z, and he becomes a wolf (or a tanner).

That's my line of reasoning on torture at least. But ... on someone highly suspeced, I think its worth taking that risk.

do we have any confirmation that it might flip someone's alignment though? I feel like losing powers, becoming minions, or even gaining a 'bad' power (like killing people that visit them during the night ... the paranoid Boomstick guy, or whatever)
