[SPOILERS] Xenu Succeeds, BGN Fails! - RB's First Pitboss Succession Game

Civstats is showing multiple people settling cities this turn. Probably have to watch for barbs entering borders soon.

Because of course.  rant

Overview for your dotmapping purposes.

A couple of settling options, depending on how we want to proceed (Oracle? x dotmap; Just grow? Y dotmap)

I waffled on whether to start the granary in Aaron Murray or whether to go on to a settler. In the end I decided to put the +7f into the granary rather than into the settler. I may revisit this next turn but we'll be closer to having food in the box. We have enough improved tiles for all cities right now, which leans heavily in the direction of wanting another settler, and we have cottages being laid fast and furious, so I don't think I want to whip very much. But PRO granaries and, for these cities, we have decent food surplus. We just can't grow hard everywhere at the same time and the capital needs food after its granary to grow to level 5. Which leads me to not want to whip AM because it's going to be giving the sheep and pigs away to the capital. I think probably next turn I swap to settler in AM and the chop goes into the settler rather than the granary. We can 1-pop the granary any time we want to.

I left tech on Mysticism. We need sailing so Todd Gurley can have a lighthouse but it does have 4 usable land tiles if it steals the capital's pigs. Mysticism lets us whip a monument (ugh) and we open the path to a religion, which is a better way to pop borders. I need an estimate on how long it will take us to unlock the Oracle and try to compare that to the straight benefit of Sailing and building an island overseas. We need more map info so the cap will go back to a workboat after the granary.

This is the time for input because we have to make a decision on tech path.

I think Mysticism is right for now. Don't want to waste hammers on popping with barracks right now when we don't otherwise need barracks at the moment. Sailing is less immediately important than being able to pop borders. If we decide against religion line we'd need monuments anyway. Go forward.

On the fish, of course, but the good news is it's only one fish instead of the max troll value which was four.

BTW I'm pretty sure the Full of Resources map script has an option to not allow peak tiles on the coast to prevent this situation. Confirmed (again!) that Krill is a troll bastard.

Xenu wanted a turn report just to keep running up the score in the thread view war.

  • I finished another cottage that we aren't using yet  smoke
  • I misclicked a worker outside of our borders and he has (so far) lived to tell the tale
  • A barb warrior appeared on the filler signpost in the south and moved back into the fog on this turn.

Last turn I swapped AM from the settler to the spear and I'll go ahead and finish it now (12h overflow back into the settler so no real harm done). No point in letting a bad RNG roll destroy our game when the map has already done that job.  popcorn

Spear is ok, will need something to kill barbs now that animals aren't spawning anymore. As long as the worker doesn't die out there building a road to the next site isn't the worst use of labor. We'll need to figure out the dot map, I'll try to come up with something during the holiday break. I think the cow wheat clam food city is next since it's the best site available. Then maybe the floodplain fish curry... We'll see.

That's a weird typo I but I'm leaving it. Fish curry could be tasty and I'm hungry.

Ok, if this kind of stuff keeps up I'm going to have to revert back to a PB38 kind of theme for our civ. Start around 5:51 if you're in a hurry. May I introduce our (for now?) Acting Attorney General of the United States...

Yeah, the guy playing at being the nation's top law enforcement officer is a huckster and is corrupt. Nothing new for this administration. But I'd hesitate to change the naming scheme because sometimes I want a break from these dipshits' reality.

Fine. But this game is going to contiune long after football season ends. We can move into a second act kind of theme after football ends if we want to.

I'm about to get on the road for the next 8 hours. Grab the turn, looks like it may be coming soonish.

Can you get the turn? I can't do it this morning. Just us and Nauf now.
