[SPOILERS] Cheater Hater hates bad advice. BGN gives only bad advice.

An empire as technologically primitive as mine wouldn't understand pikes. Spears we understand, though. So gifted pikes would downgrade to spears and we would remain invincible.

I haven't heard of axes beating tanks though so if you gift maces I'm probably up a creek.

Edit: Also, this talk of gifting me anything probably isn't very well received in this thread, no? lol

Eh, I could use the post count, especially if I'm not writing reports shhh
I don't know if this thread is better or worse for xenu's pirate discussions than the PB22 tech thread? tongue

Probably worse, but here's another post to add to the total. thumbsup

Xenu, you should pick up mentoring duties here as penance for your pirating and trolling. Your continuing existence is a master class troll course at this point. You ought to have time, right? I mean, managing a single city doesn't take that long. wink

Anyone looking to me for answers is obviously asking the wrong questions to the wrong person. As you say, it's me on one city, not CH....

CH, looks like BGN is trying to sell you out. Saying he only gives bad advice is apparently giving him too much credit. neenerneener

As fun as all the spam was, I think it's time to put something resembling an actual report in the topic smile
I have the T123 and T124 folders like normal, but I'm actually going to put a couple pictures in the topic:

New city of Heidelburg was settled, and F3's settler is on its way. After that, I have F1 I want to settle soon-ish (the settler isn't in production yet, mainly since I'm not sure how safe the F1 site is with johns's galley hovering in the area), then two crappy filler cities, and then I'm done peacefully expanding! Afterwards, I have to start using all these units I have tongue
Sabata is an interesting case--johns built walls there, but he's also almost completely emptied the city (only an Impi is left). Obviously I assume johns will get some more units by the time the treaty runs out, but it might not be quite as many, especially if he doesn't smell the possibility of a chariot invasion. Other than that, I hope Johnny Oro doesn't have a massive force in it when I can see it again.

Grimace's Bureaucracy-fueled capital must be insane, as you can see by the GNP and production numbers. Still, Grimace isn't close (speaking of; I finally decided to trade maps with Adrien now that he's going to get most of my info between looking through Whosit and my borders), and he's still behind somehow. There are a lot more interesting pictures in the folder, but nothing that's that important for the turn-by-turn stuff. As always, if you have any questions (about this game, or the PB18 spam tongue ), feel free to ask smile

T125 and T126 have been played, and normally there wouldn't be much to worry about/report about--but we'll see about that tongue
We'll start with the overview as always:

I'm up to 18 cities now, one decent city site remaining (though F5 might be worth settling). Hopefully I can afford to settle F1 sometime soon, though I think it might have to wait until after the next round of johns fighting (since it needs an actual garrison thanks to johns's Galley). Speaking of that, let's check up on him via the demos:

Let's see...Grimace's Bureaucracy-filled capital continues to amaze (though I get to revolt next turn if I want to--I'm assuming I do, but do I want to swap to Caste System as well (though I think I have so many cities I don't get the swap for free regardless tongue )), I've fallen to third in production somehow, johns is up 100k power on me, I'm first in land area, yet...wait a minute scared
HOW THE HECK DOES JOHNS HAVE 100K MORE POWER THAN ME! yikes

That might have something to do with it whip
Yes, that's 8 separate whips last turn, and almost certainly why he's skyrocketed in power--but why now? Not only does our peace treaty not expire for six more turns, he doesn't have Horseback Riding for Horse Archers until next turn (which would probably be the main reason to do a massive whip spree--though whipping a bunch of Cats is a close second). As such, my assumption is that he has to be gearing up for an attack against Adrien (which also explains the exodus from Adios, Sabata), but I have to be planning for a Horse Archer invasion--that means wrapping up my Forges (and/or interrupting them in some cities), building more Spears, and probably heading for Horseback Riding next for War Elephants (then Archery for Horse Archers). After that I'm not sure what I should be doing--I could go to Feudalism for more defense, Alphabet and/or the Liberalism path for more Commerce, or Machinery for Maces to attack. I feel like HR is going to take a bit, and then after the easy Archery backfill, the next war with johns will have started, so I'll be saving and focusing on units.

As expected, johns decided to declare on Adrien/Old Harry, and has already taken a city (though I forgot to check if he burned it or not--looks like he did burn it based on the score movement, but I didn't check his cities in-game). As such, I decided to revolt to Bureaucracy this turn--that means there isn't much to cover this turn, but the normal pictures are in the folder as always smile

Things look good at least--I'm surprised that Horseback Riding is a 1T tech at 80% even before the Bureaucracy boost (and that was sustainable for at least one more turn). That means that I can backfill HR and Archery without taking much of a hit to my finances, then save for a turn or two while I decide where to go next--I keep feeling like it should either be Machinery or Feudalism to prepare for the upcoming war, but I want to see how my GNP looks after the Bureaucracy boost--maybe backfilling the Iron Working I'll need for Knights and/or my UU Pikes is a decent stopgap? Any thoughts on my next couple techs BGN (both whether more military is necessary right now, and if I do need military, is Feudalism->Guilds or Machinery->Engineering is better)?

Hooray, an ipecac/Elum war, and ipecac's already taken (and kept) a city! I'm surprised though--ipecac wasn't that high in power though (4th, and almost tied with Adrien). I'm guessing that Elum must not have that much power, and neglected units to wonder-spam and/or power though the tech tree (I'm assuming he has Bureaucracy right now, considering that I'm sometimes 2nd in GNP even when Grimace is taking a research break). Seriously, give me open borders ipecac so I can get contact! tongue

Tell me something to get excited and write about! We have a long backlog this time--T128, T129, T130, and T131 have all been played since my last report, and there's still not much new--the peace treaty's about to expire, and I don't know if I want to declare right when it expires or not. I feel like my best chance involves wiping out Sabata with 2-movers on the declaration turn, and it feels like I'm going to need more 2-movers to accomplish that, and as such I'm building a bunch of Horse Archers in various places. The Adrien-johns war is still going on, but it's not making a significant on johns's power. In fact, my detour to build Forges everywhere caused me to drop down to third in power (maybe behind Elum? I'm not sure. Actually, Whosit completed the Horse Whispering quest, so that might be it--we can check the power graph in a turn or two), though I should be recovering a bunch of that with my current round of units.
