[Mjmd #51 No Players] Mjmd Rambles - a civ story

Well I fought a war with Plemo and won!!!! (I mean he took undefended horse city with 1 longbow and I sent my uber city attack general axe (2nd great general) down and he retreated (I let him get out). But real news as I'm sure you all know is that Plemo declared on El Grillo. He definitely has had knights for longer (I know what top 3 are teching atm), but power is comparable. Ramk actually has a really large army for his size. Either A he is going to get in on this action or attack another neighbor.

I actually wonder about Plemo's timing for an attack on a strong neighbor. We all knew this war was coming, but he could have easily gotten lib and tried at drafted rifles rather than knights. Maybe its rather an attack of opportunity and not prolonged who knows.

I'm down to 3 mainland cities. SD let me kill off a minor stack (it has 4 units left; should have 3 but I lost a 96.5% battle banghead ). His main stack will be outside Age of Empires next turn. Uber axe general is going back down to take that barb city in the ice. I also have 1 settler I think will be going down that way as well. I can choose to go down and put a city near Lazteuq OR I could go east and put a city below Vanrober because I don't think he has done anything with those yet. I think GKC has gone up a ways so would have to be right outside of him (who is back in war vs Gira and just entered a golden age). I'll probably go south. Laztueq has good reasons to keep me alive just to annoy his strong neighbor.  Also, I actually haven't scouted the Vanrober islands yet.

Edit: I also took back Leap Frog from SD via an amphibious assault with 2 un-promoted axes; I meant to raze it, but forgot if it is still in anarchy it just auto goes back to you; oooppppssss. I knew that and just wasn't really thinking; ah well.

After I mostly destroyed SDs medium stack I made a huge mistake that may have saved GoldenEye for a while. Instead of covering a wounded axe going to it / moving heavily wounded unts from my stack south, I instead went to AgeofEmpires with everything (instead of just healthier units). SD then attacked across a river into fortifications killing a lot of his cats, but annihilating everything of mine. He then moved that main stack north to Pharoah and took that with a couple more cat losses. SD sent 3 chariots at GoldenEye. I had barely got my chariot there in time to soak up 1 hit while the newly created Hwacha killed 2! SD then sent 1 prat and 1 something else there and Hwacha also killed the Prat! (other retreated).

Minorly relevant for 2 reasons
1) GoldenEye became my capital and popped borders meaning all 3 silvers are back in my control and more importantly out of SD control. Between war warriness and motherland I'm hoping that is some pain.
2) As you all know SD declared on Lazteuq. However, Lazteuq just took two!!! cities from SD. Meaning I'm 100% positive that main stack is moving west. I had though SD was doing a bunch of 1 pop whips preparing for guilds (maybe is still), but now I'm wondering if he is just in trouble. I'm curious why he didn't go on through Vanrober and instead hit Lazteuq AFTER his war.

Anyways he sent 2 prats at GoldenEye again, I'm assuming thinking I was building just triremes. I went along with this by moving the 1 crossbow I had over to easternmost silver so his chariot wouldn't scout and he wouldn't think he needed to send more. Meanwhile 2nd crossbow came in from Red Alert. SD went from being 1 unit shy multiple times from taking to having to commit a non 0 amount of units (or like 2 knights) and he is probably isn't in a position to send even a medium force there atm. Meaning I get to be annoying for a while! He hadn't seen crossbows before either.

Meanwhile I won a 32% trireme battle and then moved the other 3 of mine up the coast. Prob won't move them further as then SD could cut them off. Very funny doing our non important little battles while Plemo is choking El Grillo cities and moving his very much superior fleets around. I didn't turn on icons but I'm parked on a clam atm.

SD is slowly collapsing. I must have been annoying enough because instead of sending this stack defend his capital (which I believe is under siege based on my scouting worker that has made its way around there) he is sending to hit me. I had actually changed tech once Lazteuq started making progress. I was hoping all of his troops would be dedicated to defending his core and I could retake some things, but evidently there is a price to being annoying!

I'm actually going to attack him on the lowground instead of letting him send in cats against me. He also built a lot of Triremes and forced me to retreat. I currently have 3 triremes and 2 galleys sitting in red alert. Jokes on him if he goes to pillage clam, I don't have the happy cap there to let it grow anyways, especially once he takes those silvers away as I'm trading both of them atm. My great general axe sadly died trying to take the silver city south of red alert, so Red Alert is very likely to be my last city.

Some last map bitching.
I was going to do a detailed analysis of everyones capital vs my original starting one, but I'm way too lazy. I'm not going to say I had the worst capital, Ramks is pretty weird with a banana, but I had the least cottagable land (5 total unless I did the hills) and the least riverside cottages (3).  Considering I choose a leader very specifically to get a beuro capital, I stand by my decision to move. I didn't know it would make the copper city crappy! My moved capital is actually somewhat comparable to a few people.

Also, this shape is wierd. 4 people only got two neighbors, while Ramk would have had potentially 5 with Amicolola. Looks like maybe quality of land was factored into this, but unsure. Also, in no way looks like a fritter  neenerneener
