Lol that you renamed that one city Silly Academy. :D

I had popped a GSci while being devoured in wars and had nothing better to do with him then to culture push Merohoc.

Intresting. We've OB with Serdoa, but because he is running Mercantilism I'm not getting the -20% in EP costs from trade routes (makes sense, but I assumed that OB would be enough). I'm better of closing borders in case Serdoa starts sending his EPs towards me.

It seems like Cheetach has parked his Merchant here waiting for another to GP to fire Golden Age. He is building quite a bit of wealth, but can't still hit 500 gpt so he starts to be more or less out of the winning race.

Also there probably is a race either towards Communism Spy or SoL. Serdoa doesn't have many cottages so PP won't be economically that important for him.

Areas north from the capital. This was my 1st direction of expansion. There are also former Arab land in the NW. I cottaged most of the land way back and former arab cities have mainly been workshopped. Yuo've already seen all but 2 cities.

Typical commerce city. Quite a lot of coast tiles.

Former Arab city. Decent production center. Again too many coastal tiles to make this a true power house. Typical for this map. Can get clams from ArabCapital to grow.

Also Commodore has declared war against Scooter. I really hope they can hold on against Commodore. I would hate to see Commodore capturing GLH city.

Chemistry. There is a fair chance this is last tech I'll be able to take from Cheetach.

Pretty active turn. Commodore got Great Spy and Serdoa fired 2man golden age (at least I think it is 2 man one) and converted to Pacifism and Environmentalism. Latter one is a beast during GA it gives +2 commerce on all non-riverside farm tiles and Serdoa has quite a few of them.

Spy is quite bad news. He probably infiltrates and takes a big leap in EP points making it way more expensive to steal techs. I'll get my next Great Person in 2T. Mixed pool 50% Merchant, 20% Engineer and Scientist and Spy 10%. I don't care too much about the type. Scientist/Engineer will be spared, Spy infiltrate (either Serdoa or Commodore) and Merchant goes for trade mission.

No matter how I try to generate equation from the visible Chemistry steal costs and prices discounts/increases I can't get things match. It is highly likely that UI shows rounded percentages when actual percentages are used behind the scenes. Well I get close enough, if I assume all percentages being multiplicative so I guess that is how it works.

Another oddity is the counter espionage mission. The tool tip when I'm about to fire the mission saids that mission costs are increased by 200%. I've always thought this would be 100%. Tried to find this multiplier from the code or xml files, but couldn't so I guess it is hard coded somehwere not accessible to normal modders. Quite strange desicion, if you ask from me. I guess I just had to test this or does anybody know if the multplier is 100 or 200%?

btw. multiplicative 100% isn't that much so I wouldn't be surprised, if it has been changed to 200% at some point. e.g. with 100% my Chemistry steal would cost 5400 EPs that is still reasonable when compared to tech costs whereas 8100 would make it already a very bad price. In latter case accumulating EPs and infiltrating start to be quite risky investments.

I've always thought the Counter-espionage mission doubled mission costs.

Also I've heard a general statement that the costs displayed in the UI are bugged.
I have to run.
