It looks like CML is content with losing a turn, so I went ahead and played the turn. Didn`t wait for dtay, as we`ve decided not to attack his scout. The settler is finished in Borte and on its way to the NE. Luckily, our warrior didn`t see any animals when he entered our future Muqa site. I chose to move the wounded warrior 1N in order to get a bit better visibility in the area.
I'm glad to see no further animals are hiding out in the fog! It would be a good idea to start moving a warrior back toward Borte if we're not going to delay the next settler to build another warrior: We may need to fogbust for our worker as it roads toward the as-yet-unknown location of the copper city. Obviously the full-health warrior isn't going anywhere until at least T32 though.
I`ll keep that in mind. The western warrior will track back to Borte next turn. I never quite valued the early warriors in SP, but keeping them alive for now is ever so important! Our second worker will finish in four turns. Exp workers are cheap.
Yeah - I know what you mean. I actually tend to feel I never have enough warriors even in SP, but I usually play on Quick or Normal, where they cost time and a half as much (relative to everything else; obviously the actual hammer cost is much lower) than Marathon speed. Also, Exp workers are cheaper when we can build them with more hammers and less food. We'll see if we can arrange for our future Workers to be produced even faster!
Internationally, Dark Savant and Coeurva both built their second cities this turn, having probably sped their settlers with a(t least one) chop apiece. Ventessel, on the other hand, in spite of whipping his Settler out so it was produced on turn 29 (I mean, unless he whipped something else inexplicably) has yet to plant his second city. dtay likewise has played without planting, so we'll have to continue to wait and see with him.
Dtay double moved his scout westwards in a respectful distance of Borte`s bfc. I`m okay with that. It looks like we might have a second turn today, just Gavagai left to play. The settler is in place and ready to found the city of Muqa next turn. Things are looking good right now! I`m thinking about switching our two warriors, letting the full-strength one return to Borte, while the injured one will heal up (and fortify) in Muqa. That would save us a couple of turns of healing, which could be useful.
Good idea on the warriors! As long as the full-health one waits for Muqa to be founded before moving, it can be in perfect position to guard the worker when Bronze comes in, regardless of where it shows up. I'm curious about what dtay's scout is going to get up to as well; I certainly don't mind it spawnbusting and drawing possible animal attacks around our territory, as long as it remains non-hostile!
So Gavagai, as I mentioned, wasn't acting like he was in a turn split at the time when I earlier (mistakenly, I now believe) thought he might have been the subject of a choke. I had trouble resolving this, obviously.
But the funny thing is, he is acting like he's in a turn split now!
Another note completely unrelated to gameplay: Today at the library, a patron came in and asked for books about Mongolian history. His family was originally from Mongolia (and some of them still live there) and he had visited recently, but he wanted to read up on the subject a bit more for himself. I was able to direct him pretty well, and had a little knowledge of what to look for, because I'd been researching Mongolia quite a bit for my ongoing Khatunate stories. His family had picked a very Mongolian name for him too: He introduced himself as Temujin!

That`s brilliant! You never know when civ knowledge come in handy. The other day I went to a quiz with my friends, and this question was asked: "What was the capital of the Incan empire"? Answering that one is not so hard for a civ player! Actually I would probably be able to name the five first (biggest?) Incan cities.
Regarding Gavagai: It sure looks like he`s in a turn split. Otherwise he`d just have played a double turn.
It looks like dtay`s scout was attacked by an animal (probably a wolf). The scout`s doing a great job of fog busting for us. Hopefully he`ll heal for a turn before continuing southwards. Our second city of Muqa was founded this turn, revealing a little bit more of land to its east. Dtay still has no copper and no second city just yet. Well, it can`t be too long now. Note that dtay got a small jump in power this turn. Maybe he produced a warrior?
I adjusted the research slider to 20%. Just four more turns until we discover Bronze working. I can`t wait for that. Also, for the first time we are first in crop yield!
Beautiful! I'll have to delay comment until I finish my turns in OSG-29B, but I'll try to catch up tomorrow, and in the meantime everything's looking great!
