So, let's see what's happening in this Oh! so controversial game.
This is the new city of Greed. It has corn and gold. That's it... We have a Woody 2 axe exploring. There's a lot of jungle and bananas. Just jungle and bananas. No rice and wheat, just bananas... Well, here's our civ core... The cities of Sloth, Envy and Acedia: Why the names, you ask. Here's why: 1. Sloth is the capital because I never update... 2. Envy is because there's the city where we lost the race to the Great Wall 3. Acedia because the only reason to build a city like that is due to already giving up (due to bad terrain)... 4. Greed because the city is so far from the other ones that it'll end up being our doom... Next city will be, of course, wrath, due to everybody knows what... I whipped this library to overflow into a Skirmisher to defend against that damn barb... I don't want to lose the capital because of a bad roll... A library is decent, anyway... Capital took the corn back to grow again!!! Demos: :dancing5: That's before the whip.... So it's actually worst...
Nice report, Ichabod. Where's the planned location for Wrath?
With that city name planned, I have to recycle one of my screenies from the Perpentach succession game:
If only this was a FfH game and we could summon that big fella, than I'd be a happy man!
But this is BTS, so there's probably some players with 8 cities already and that's that. It makes me feel... I don't know the word in english... Whatever... So, we are going to found two cities in the next turns. I already have some defensive skirmishers to defend them and I'll be whiping the settlers shortly. Where do we found these cities? Good question... I thought about settling the first here, in the X? near the elephant: I think it should slowbuild a monument with either the copper borrowed from capital or the ivory tile. I'll build 1/2 farms and the bananas will be the food needed. Some cottages thrown here and there and voilá. The second city will be very similar, but even slower to start: I prefer the A spot because we get sugar. I don't think we can steal the southern part of the jungle from the hotshot Sunrise089. If we can, it could go in the X? tile. Maybe I'll throw a comment in the diplo thread about it. Thoughts? (outside of "why the hell are we still playing this?") Apathetic? Annoyed? Irradiated? Well I'm back to cheer you on as only David Beckham can, so here goes: "'E's a big mistake" He should have listened to his wise words back in February. Oh and I know I'm a bit late, but your post in the dogpile thread was the best, most measured and most comprehensive post on the whole issue of ASM/LP out of game discussion. So kudos (well after the fact) to you.

I'll probably refrain from making any such commetns again and only use the tech thread for trolling/spamming of false information/general annoyance. Ichabod Wrote:The second city will be very similar, but even slower to start: The problem with the A spot is that it is across the river, so wouldn't benefit from the river defense bonus in case Sunrise decides to attack us. It's also pretty far from our lands, so will be a pain to reinforce. I'd grab the original X, and grab two more sites in the jungle. One on the Sugar, and another SE or S-SE of the Bananas. Ilios Wrote:The problem with the A spot is that it is across the river, so wouldn't benefit from the river defense bonus in case Sunrise decides to attack us. The SE from the bananas city can wait, because that's a lot of jungle (if I'm thinking about the same spot as you). By the way: Barb axe. Scary... I think we'll have decent odds with the combat 1 axe in the city, but I'm ordering a Skirmisher just to be safe. It's a pain to not have horses... I can't see them anywhere. The corn will most likely be pillaged, unfortunately. Man, barbs will be a pain in this game. There's just so much freaking jungle... |
