Also, you know, tiles to work...

Ugh, Boldly. Those always taste like despair and aspartame.

My non-capital capped cities do have a little more health room thanks to fresh water. Here's the other size seven, Innsmouth, just for reference. She'll be yielding a Great Scientist next turn barring a bad RNG roll netting a Prophet.

I got hammers but not health or happy; normally that means expanding but I'm breaking even at a little over 20% right now. frown The fertile spots still available will have to wait a bit more.

Hum. Bulb Alphabet, build research to Currency? tongue

Haha. It is a "Calendar" that helps with health and happy. Duh. smile

Also, don't do anything that reminds anyone of PB7. That last line smells of PB7 to me. nono

Pitboss 15: Turn 100

Welcome to the hundredth turn of this tight little veteran's pitboss. I hope you're all enjoying the show; I think it's probably like watching NASCAR; lots of crashing. My poor Great Scientist was born and promptly burned on Alphabet; need open borders and research builds to get out of my hole.

The economic core of Lovecraft Country is pretty much the Middle Miskatonic Valley here. Kingsport is a massive hammer spot that will cap out in the middle 30s, while Arkham itself is going to have a fine bumper crop of towns soon; four more to be planted, but the river valley is already covered. nod

The "ancient cities" cluster to the E/NE is looking a bit sheepish, now with more culture action than you can believe. I'm honestly worried about Serdoa making a suicidal push; he can't hold anything but his horse archers could sure burn stuff. I just need a silver mine to make this sector properly shiny; Serfdom windmills are probably going to be the eventual fate of most of this rugged terrain.

Kind of defaulting to farms by virtue of flatness, Dunwich in the southeast is going to be my main GP farm, while the Blasted Heath does whatever a cruddy little border city should do; it's destined for mediocrity, I can tell already.

My economy is a lie right now, going at a hilariously unsustainable 50% research rate and a fair few research builds. I'm up to merely "slightly below average" in my other stats though! Currency in five turns by hook or crook; then we'll set us up the bomb bulb.

For the crushingly boring, charts:

Not shown is me crushing in the culture department. Novice is currently winning "all the wonders", Lewwnyn is winning "all the cities/land", and Krill is winning "winning". Game: Still fun!

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Hopefully this road next turn keeps the ETA of Currency current...

Do you use the whip at all, considering how low on food the empire is?
Also, I'm back to being more active (hopefully)!
Tought luck with how the game started....

Welcome back! Given the vast amount of mine hammers and the tightish food, no, I don't whip at all. I'll cheerfully flip to serfdom when I can.

In other news, the barbs spawned something for Thoth...need to burn it first.

Just for the curious, here's the sum total of the Army of Arkham. It's not impressive, but then again, neither is the realm really.

Dunwich is beginning work on the second Prophet of Bulbing. It'll pop borders and gain a riverside farm which will feed it at size seven working two priests. I'm hopeful we'll see some major progress on the whole happy/health cap situation by the time the great prophet is whelped; then the city will give back silks and the plains cottage to the capital.

Krill is breaking the sound barrier with his economy right now. Wealth builds people.
