[NO PLAYERS] Raskol's log

Logged in and played the turn:

I sent the newly built archer in the jungle are, and started another spear (due next turn). The islands garrisons can wait.

I didn't change the tech path because I really need calendar now for the increase happy (size 15 cities shortly) and the food from bananas (jungle cities). I think building enough spears may be enough, we will see. I will ask to MC how much impact going for construction vs monarchy first has on feudalism thus guild timing.

You'll have a better feel for the game having played and made conversations, but it's going to take centuries for 1-movers like spears to attack you from Gav lands, so from my point of view it doesn't seem that dangerous. At least if you get some spears against HAs/mounted. So upsetting relations with Cairo by delaying monarchy shouldn't be necessary. TBW might be a concern though, IDK what he's up to.

How are the alliances shaping up? What is the other coalition (or coalitions)? Who's trading techs with who?

edit: after checking WEs require IW in this mod -- I knew there was something. Just happy it's not machinery.

^^oh yeah, I forgot it, good catch. But we do have IW.

2 tech blocks: MC/SD/me vs TBW/Gavaga/GKC.

First round of trading, we got HBR/Alpha for math.
Second should be MC/Calendar/Monarchy for Machinery/feudalism. I think I can trade some more in the second round (didn't check the numbers yet, will have to look at quotas).

And yeah... I am trying to have a NAP with TBW but imo it won't go anywhere. We need to build some more HAs after the spears.

Agreed on the tech path regarding diplo

Hello TBW,

Would you be interested by a NAP? Gavagai is building tones of HAs/Spears he will prolly send our way... (I have pics of the stacks if you are interested)

Cheers,
Ras

Does it look like they're coming my way, or is he aiming them at Superdeath? I've seen his power spiking and been figuring he's building up to hit Superdeath because I traded luxuries with him like five turns ago, it'd be weird for him to hit me out of nowhere after that.

Regards,
TBW

I am not sure where they are heading. They were north west of InnerLighthouse t100 (have yet to play t101). But he is roading south east of IL in direction of the razed barb city Goth. Dunno what he is up to, but it will be no good. It would be weird to hit me too, considering our location on the map, but I am cautious.

Cheers,
Ras

BTW, I am taking the last message as a "NO". Right?

Regards

We have a chat on discord with MC and SD.
If you want that I can post it too... but I summed up it mostly (spoke about next trades, exchanged screenies of the map, wondered about Gavagai's build up)

No need for diplo transcripts. Summarizing the important things and what's agreed upon is best for me.

Okie dookie, works for me thumbsup

Here is the infamous spear stack:

Settled Concentration last turn:

Whipped a worker for two in Cauldron and also Dyemont's settler for two. Roading in the jungle first before improving tiles to ease troops movement in the area (didn't follow the signs but roaded north east of Concentration for better coverage of the bfc and faster connection of the corn; also roaded the hamlet in Dyemont so the troops from DoW don't loose one turn going through the river). Started a wall in Concentration since there is no way we can finish a granary before growth. We'll time it for a whip 2 > 1 at mid food bar.
Gonna log in and play in a few hours (maybe post before if I feel there is something to discuss).

edit: also there is the "spy" incident to be discussed (a spy has been caught in foreign lands, which means someone broke the game rules of "no spy")
edit2: spices will be settled next turn, and the rice city the turn after. Dyemont's settler heading to board into our galley.

It looks like he will be breaking his NAP with SD finally noidea

We settled 2 new cities, HooSpicy and OfUnreason (small reference to a CFC member I read a lot):

Closer look at the south:

I am gonna reroute some workers to hook up dyes/silks. Bananas and spice will be done by the workers already in place around the relevant cities.

I am wondering if it's worth sending that 6xp axe into the wild to look for barb xp. I guess not. Will be prolly sending one our scouts into the center of the map to finish removing the fog.

Closer look at the north:

Started a rax in Cauldron (its forge was finished using the whip overflow from the last worker).
I really need some more workers to lay down workshops (at least 3) on DoW's grasslands, then put mills on its hills (I want the fewer farms there, all out production, will prolly bulldoze its cottage once I can irrigate).

Don't  whip  me for that worked grassland tile. I am switching to the brown mine every two turns. I just don't want to whip DoW anymore. I can eat all the food surplus through mines already so the whip doesn't give anything unless I need emergency units.

Techs:

The other team traded MC/Calendar/currency between them. Let's see if they trade construction/aesthetics/monarchy... in that case, it means they will be manually research machinery/feud/guild if I am not wrong (I really need to check those trade quotas and tech costs rolleye ). They might start the first wold war in a few turns if that's true. (ugly for them if not)

We've got one last settler to do then we will produce mostly units too till someone dies flower

Sending calendar to MC next turn and monarchy to MC/SD t110 (the turn we get our next GP, hopefully a GE). Then it's gold to fuel guild. (well that is if we do bulb engineering)

Gavagai's is going to settle our banana whip
He has 3 more HAs NW of Mesa Verde. The power graph are flattening though so I guess war will wait a bit.

Here is the situation on our islands:

The wb from The Horcrux will be in place the turn The Remote One's border pops. That's nice. Another wb should be made for the last island city (whipping the settler for 3 in Cuba Libre next turn). A worker is in place to hook up the dyes. Note we were blessed with some natural religious spread (tx the shrine).

Concentration view:

Walls and the granary shoud be done in 7 turns (gonna chop the forest south west of the city), the turn after the city grow. Maybe it's best to switch to a granary right away so we store 4 food in the granary before growing to size 2.

I still haven't started the market in DoW. I am still cautious and I would like a couple more HAs to be safe. Maybe that's a mistake. It would yield 3gpt now (that's a 3 turns build or 2 pop whip - which feels not worth it) noidea

Next GP: IT will be 50-50 GE-GP.

In case of a GE, save for engineering bulb. In case of GP, I guess save for a GA to build knights. Bulbing theology seems a waste (sure the AP is nice, but I have already sunk too much hammers in wonders, I'd rather make troops now). I am contemplating a switch in police state during the GA though if we do get a GP. +75% to troop production in forge cities (Cauldron, The Evidence, Dawn of War) should help us making a nice stack.

Switched Concentration to a granary after writing these posts. Hopefully Gav isn't reading this and won't attack in 3 turns lol
