So far, no Oromos have been killed
Actually, it seems I'm always bound to be either the Zulu myself (RB74) or to run into the Zulu (RB75, German93) as my next-door friend. ljubljana, as Toku from the Zulu's for sure looks like a peaceful neighbour.
But, so far, his power graph doesn't tell me he built his UU (yet), and I've not yet found his country (he found me, though..) - and I suppose I did some decent scouting, so it can't be that close.
I should be able to get copper reasonably soon, and once Axes are available, he shouldn't be able to rush me, hopefully. I've defended myself in both my recent PBs from an early rush. For the Romans in RB74, their attempt ended badly as they were conquered from the other side, for the Zulu in German93, we ended up destroying both our games, so I still take that as a successfull defence. Hope here, the Zulu won't try a rush and we can both grow our countries. Hopefully..

And I meet naufragar (The Sultan of America :D ) - my scout found a warrior of him.
Sounds a bit more peaceful than Tokugawa of Zulu..
He has already three cities (vs. 2, what I and the Zulu have)
Changed spio points into him. The Zulu must have found someone too, as his Spio points stayed fixed with me for a few turns. Must have been around 3-4 turns ago, I really didn't took that much attention..
Anyway, as Zulu's power graph didn't yet increase much, I doubt he's going to Impi-rush me, and I'll have some axes ready soon enough.
After that, it's probably expansion, expansion, expansion.. I've several city positions "lined up", but won't decide their order till I've to. Probably want some more workers first. After roads, it's straight to Granaries and huts..

It seems naufragar/USA is actually my nearest neighbor, much closer than the Zulu. That changes.. lots of things..
So far I thought the Zulu is somewhere in my East or South-East, but with plenty of tiles between us. I was actually wondering why we're so far apart. But, I forgot that small area to my West, which looked the most dry/hilly and without any good resources, so I didn't scouted it yet. Well, that's where the USA is located (there is a nice river just behind the bad land)
Hopefully, having pretty much land between us means there isn't going to be a fight for it, at least not early on.

No worries, all I need is some moral support here
(Meaning, at least some replies to my monologue)
Had a pretty bad week at work, so I am glad it’s finally weekend.. Will update about the general situation I am in with maps soon, to be honest I am quite paranoid about reporting too much details as we had a case in the German forum where one player did use a fake account to get information from other players. Needless to say, that came as a big shock to the community.
So I might report somewhat vague at times, and not provide exact maps if I feel paranoid

Yeah that's an unfortunate that it only takes a few bad actors to undermine that sense of community. But maybe write your thoughts on the sensitive topics down and then post them when you feel comfortable, even if it's many turns later

The situation West of my Empire. The USA.
Naufragar has already 3 cities, and that settler looks like he's about to settle a 4th city. Did he not got copper yet?
And there I was, feeling panicking over not settling my second city next to a copper (or even on a copper)..
If I really wanted, I could have settled on my copper and have my axes visiting him by now.. but I guess he played economically-wise because, well, I didn't spot him yet at that time. He doesn't know where I'm located, and I hope he guesses into a wrong location.. the land between him and me isn't too attractive, but has space for some 2 decent cities.. (or more, but squeezed)
His capital and second city must be North and North-West of what I know about his lands so far.
Still no sign where the Zulu is located. From his power graph, he doesn't attempt an Impi rush I suppose..

Who needs defenders? The USA for sure not
Unfortunately he'll have that copper online soon enough, too bad I didn't had some warriors heading that way..

So I got a new wide screen to play Civ4 properly, and somehow I can't post it's 3840*1600 resolution screenshots anymore, great.
And now I even can't upload smaller pictures, guess I broke the file upload..
In short, I'm just peaceful developing..
Made a "AI diplo" NAP with the American (West of me, we seem to have settled borders that both of us are happy with, leaving some space in between) and trying my best to have enough weapons to keep peace with the Zulu who settled VERY aggressively towards me (East)
It seems the Zulu had an earlier war which he declared (Showing in diplo screen) - but I don't know yet if that was a "proper" war, and where his enemy from back then is located.
A fresh war has just started, but since neither the USA nor Zululand are involved, I'm just minorly interested.
As long as I can keep friendly relations with the USA, and keep the Zulu from thinking I'm an easy victim, I'm pretty much in the "builder" phase of the game. Still a bit space for peaceful expansion, and after that, well, everyone will have some catapults..
I do feel we're on some kind of "Oasis" map, but I've done a terrible job at exploring it so far.
