Nope. The guys at the local EB are getting to know me, I have been checking daily and still no box, Maybe tomorrow. At least they finally ackowledged they have got a notice that shipment will be coming in.
Umm, you know you still have to wait to get invited to the beta after the download, right? KoP 
Well KoP, try as I might I cannot get this thing to finish downloading past 87% (using their download manager; 86% downloading directly, with no hope of EVER completing). HOWEVER, on a whim, I decided to open the partially downloaded file after the FIRST hangup, and I AM in fact able to extract the files manually (using WinRAR), without any signs of corruption thus far. So... I may be able to get this thing working, once I finish downloading the rest, and piece it all together like some devilish jigsaw puzzle.
I must say, if this is how a BETA is acting, I'm scared to see what the retail product endures. I'm trying not to judge, trying to have faith, but it's becoming rather hard... I truly hope there's a good game beneath all this cludge. Edit: Urgh. Corrupt header file and, as usual, a corrupt sound data file. MAYBE I can get this to work, now that I have successfully extracted the executable, without sound. We shall see. Edit 2: Pinch me. I'm dreaming. IT's INSTALLING! Granted, I'm missing the big sound pack, but I SHOULD be able to play withthout that. Sooner or later I'm bound to get a working copy, right? ...Right?! :P Oh well. I'll let you know if anything further develops.

Technically, I never got the e-mail. :P If you try to log in at the main page, it will either turn you away (with red text, claiming "We'll let you know soon!"), or log you in, at which point you can download the client and be on your merry way. IF, that is, it doesn't completely screw up for you like it is for me and Thecla. *grumble* Edit: New client. 1.05 sucked balls. It never downloaded without corrupting. 1.06 came down the pipe without a hitch! Installing as we speak. See you guys in game tonight! Installed and now fighting demons boss of hell - patched vista and video driver but still crashing at startup. Black screen with no error msg grrr

I had to wait all week before it would work for me. I hate to say it, but you may have to do the same...  Post in the forums, read all the threads you can, and keep trying. BTW - Vista sucks!  Sorry, I couldn't resist.Also, can I just say that being a ranged glass cannon and warping into a zone that, within SECONDS, has over half a dozen armed Demons with swords for arms beating you into a pulpy mass from which there is no escape is NOT fun? Especially when they can stun-lock you? Just for the record. Thecla, where are you? I want some RB buddies to play with!
Stun lock, that's a good feature. I also noticed there's knock back too, made me happy when I saw in the video

I'm a fan of Fire damage, myself. Let me tell you, the effects are quite beautiful. :D Have you managed to find your way into the game yet? I've been looking forward to gaming with some familiar faces, but so far I've been soloing almost the entire way through (save for one quick romp through a level with some higher-ups, since I couldn't get past the gate without dying). I love my class, and I love the gameplay. I just wish I had someone to spend some time with. Let me know how you make out, and when you expect to be on. Likewise for Thecla, if he ever shows up in the game. |
