That'd be late night for me, but might give it a go since I only have a single lesson the next day at school.

I played another game with Dantski, Twinkletoes89, and Adlain on a Tiny Lakes map. I came in second place by virtue of not being eliminated. :neenernee

Though I have a lot to learn about score padding. I might have been last place, otherwise.

It looks like the starts were: TT, Dantski, Adlain, Me. I made some early mistakes and Adlain choked me for a bit with nothing but a Warrior. rolleye Having forests around the Cap city is a blessing and a curse. Adlain: You may have been better served by fortifying the Warrior in one spot to build up fortification bonuses, though you did a pretty good job of chasing my Worker all over the place. Almost got him a couple of times.

Then, it became a battle of Agg/Ind Rome (Soviet Romania) vs. Agg/Prot Native America. I managed to win. Then I lost my army when Dantski attacked and killed my scouts. I mean, sure, I was scouting with a dozen Praetorians, but that doesn't mean I was gonna do nuthin'. lol

Yeah, that was basically my perspective on the game.

I think my main problem was that I really did not take advantage of my dog soldiors before you got preats. I had decided to split my attention on both you and dantski and ended up just gifting you both xp and at the same time stifling my own economy. Then when you got construction before me the game was up, however I was suprised how long it took for you to tighten the noose on my civ.

I've learned the hard way that Construction is pretty much the killer tech for MP (as far as I know, at least). Catapults are indeed stack killers.

The reason it took me so long to finish you off, though, well, a few reasons. Dog Soldiers, especially Aggressive Dog Soldiers, are about equal in power to Praetorians (even Aggressive Praetorians). Fortified in cities with +50% defenses, I had pretty awful odds against them, so I had to wait until I had enough catapults to take you out (and I barely had enough, in the end). If I had attacked earlier, I would simply have been gifting you XP.

And, yeah, if you were fighting a two-front war, not such a good idea. lol I was a bit lucky in that I had coast on my other front.

A couple other questionable tactical things you did (not that I didn't have my fair share!): When you moved 4 CG III Archers next to my Praetorians. Since it was clear that you were trying to reinforce your city, I had to take them out while they were exposed, even in a forest. Pre-promoting them wasn't a great idea, either. If you had to, though, they should have been the first units that you moved, to try and move them before I killed them.

And I think that you attacked out of your capital once or twice, and ended up weakening the Garrison enough that I could take it.

But, yeah, I was surprised you didn't have a squad of Dog Soldiers on my doorstep earlier. Since they don't require resources, they can be kinda scary.

Of course, a big strategic mistake on my part was picking and Industrious leader but not chasing many Wonders. I think I got too caught up in the "killing you" bit and just churned out units.

Oh, and on second look, I think your capital site wasn't too great, either. I never got a look at Dantski's, but I thought I saw a ton of flood plains.

Was great fun, wish I could have stayed for the second game, but I'm dead tired even after sleeping 6 hours, can't imagine getting up and going to school if I hadn't slept at all :P

I had forgotten about the resourse bit or I would have resurched them first not in the order I did, and my capital wasn't too bad seeing as I was libraly using the whip to try and get a anti pread army together.

Basically for me as Inca, I was one turn too late to 'Mortius' Dantski's capital and after that i just never got a good enough force to attack or defend properly. Having to plant either a far away city or a humungously aggressive city to get copper and horses was unfortunate.

Highlight in game 1 was killing a GG 'Superphant' with a spear at 20% odds.

In game 2 I took out a GG 'SuperChariot' with a defending catapult at some ungodly long odds!

I am the GG slayer!
