Eh? Settling in the original start position would have been suicide. No hammers at all. Just (overrated) floodplains. Even with the move north it wasn't the best capital location in the game (the Bannor and the Elohim had those).
Riverside Grass Corn is a much, much better tile than dry wheat.
The copper move was interesting, if copper had been available in the original (desert) location I'd have had some more interesting decisions to make WRT my fourth/fifth city locations.
As things were, I was seriously hampered by the lack of early happy resources. Floodplains are nice, but nowhere near as good as being able to grow an extra pop point or two for free.
