Maybe he's referring to this 2010 blog post? That's what google returns. To be honest, I think that as long as you're not stupid about what files you put into the public folder you'll be fine.

I'd prefer a snake pick for my first MP game, but could go with mapmaker's choices if that's what you guys prefer. I'm fine with banning FIN and EXP, and agree with banning Inca and India; we could also go with a more extended ban list. I'm happy with any choice, as long as the most powerful leaders and civs are banned

No map preferences, except I wouldn't be comfortable playing on an archipelago

NTT is fine

I use Picasa for screenshots, the problem with it is that you can't post pictures bigger than 800x600 (it reduces any bigger pictures to this size) - could make Civ screenshots difficult to read. If it proves to be a problem, I'll change to Dropbox

Some people here dislike it, but I don't know why. Been working perfectly for years.

Great firewall of China.

By the way what's CTON?

Yeah, that seems silly to me. For civ especially we're talking about screenshots, in which case putting them in your Dropbox public folder is no different than hosting on Imageshack or photobucket, except that it's much more convenient with Dropbox.

I would say just ban the civs that have a combination of FIN, EXP, and CRE.

So ban Pacal, Willem, and Sury, perhaps also Lizzie. I think after that, no other leader is totally unbalanced.

This appeals to me as a fun but balanced option. Does everyone else find it to be a good choice?

Also, do we have a mapmaker determined already or do we need to be asking for one?

Last question for now... is there a really good guide in any of the past PBEMs that can teach those of us that haven't done PBEM before how to load, play, send, track, etc?
You can get a look at a t-bone by looking up the bulls ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

Okay one more question at the risk of being accused of bolstering post count to look less wolfish (banghead)-- snake pick vs random (or semi-random) draw.. I have Ichabod preferring random and yuris preferring the snake. I'd tend to also prefer the snake. Which puts it 2-1 for snake with all three of us happy to go the other way if the majority prefers. Is this accurate? And if so what do you want, Commodore & Ranamar?

Load the save: Multiplayer -> PBEM -> Find the save and load it.

You'll play a turn and when you hit enter a save will be created in a specific directory of your PC that you should send to the next player. If we have a tracker, you can just send the email to the tracker and he will forward it accordingly. Also, you can see where the save is by using the tracker site (like this one: http://www.mistbinder.org/pbem6tracker.php.
