the best sim I've got so far goes fishing-pottery while building a worker. Even without a workboat, that fish is the best tile available during the build. Next a workboat while cottaging the FP and researching AH. Then size 3 capital works all 3 specials while discovering bronze.
Or bag it and move. The thing I love most about Civ is choices.

Well, looks like you have your choices, and with Peter, Hatty, Pericles, and Sury either Bismark or Louis are solid choices, with Ramses and Isabella also still on the table as well. The only-Ind advantage is a bit much to pass up though, I my opinion.
I'd agree with Louis over Bismark from the looks of this start. You're going to have enough early techs needed as it is without worrying about culture (although only Peter is in competition for 'henge if you want to ape Creative with it). Plus, the early workers will be mostly food-hammer created, meaning the +25% bonus will take a while to kick in.

Oooo, hope it's not too late, but one other point in favor of Louis over Bismark...as the Ottomen, you'll have more reason than anyone else to be making Aqueducts, making the +2 health a largely moot point too.

I'm pleased with my choice of leaders, and my civ has long term strengths. I should have picked Rome, but thatâs water under the bridge now.
Requisite analysis of other picks:
Cull:
Heâs got the top leader on my list, but Iâm not certain about his choice of Sumeria. The ziggurat may help him expand a bit faster in the economy limited Classical era, but otherwise Iâm not sure what the draw was. Techs are same as mine, which means heâll have similar problems with a worker first start.
Catwalk:
Rome. Iâm really kicking myself, especially after I landed Louis, but thatâs life. Less stellar is his choice to be the only non-CRE civ in the game. On the one hand that makes him a lock for Stonehenge, but even then heâll on the losing side of many border battles⦠His saving grace may be a specialist economy, which would lend artists to the border battles. Iâve already simmed a EXP/Rome start, and he definitely has the tools to do well in the early game.
Pegasus:
Hatty of England will come of age in the industrial era. I expect the draft to be Hattyâs golden ticket⦠if we get that far. In the early game, Pegasus had the good sense to choose fishing tech, which will certainly speed early development.
Ad Hoc:
Pericles shouts âSpecialistsâ, Arabia is much more subtle. Heâll get cheap Madrassa libraries which will boost every border city to at LEAST 6 base culture⦠heâll out-CRE the rest of us CREâs. Otherwise the Arabia pick appears aimless, with C- starting techs and D- unit. (assuming a balanced start)
So in this âsee what sticksâ analysis, Iâll go out on a limb and rank the teams thusly:
Pegasus
Cull
Catwalk
Ad-Hoc
With that, I anxiously await the non-cropped start.

I understand Dropbox is all the rage, any better ideas for photo sharing?

Dropbox is good; I'd recommend combining it with a batch resizing/renaming program/script. Then you can just select all your screenshots for the turn, type in the turn number, and hit a button and they'll be put in the right place, with names like pbem25-t12_1.jpg, and resized to max 1024 wide so they don't screw up the forum layout for most anyone.
I use irfanview since I already knew about it, but there's probably a better option.

Bravo! I expect a fair bit of consternation in the other threads about your Ind trait, especially with Catwalk and Ad Hoc, who will no doubt be wanting the Pyramids in the worst possible way. Oracle'd Metal Casing seems like a natural fit, but with the Colossus gone as an option on this map, the Pyramids are now the early wonder to snag. With just going for Representation, a cheap library in every town, you can relax and let the research flow. A determined bulbing beeline will beat you to Gunpowder but Pegasus and Cull will not be able to keep up at all. Jans are definitely something you'll want early, along with Nationalism, mass-draft, boom (while Taj allows you to keep up economically).
Other strategies are a priest economy, early forge-boosted HA/cat attacks, and of course the old standby, "being awesomer than the other guys". You're the Turkish Sun King, may victory follow you in your travels.

Right now the IND trait is my wildcard, and it'll be interesting to see how that impacts diplomacy.
I've definitely been thinking about the relative importance of the pyramids, as much for denial as anything. I'll have to be careful though, not to present to shiny a target for Catwalk's Preats.
The oracle will be a natural lure (for everyone), but with triremes and colossus both kaput, I won't break my economy for Metal casting.
Stonehenge is intriguing, as you mentioned. It might give me the edge over everyone (even beating Arabia for a while) in early border-knitting battles.

For that, I promote you. How does a lifetime appointment as Commander of the Turkish Navy sound?

I'm pretty sure the raised health cap has virtually never factored into someone's choice of EXP.
Good luck, Ceiliazul!
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
