[SPOILERS] scooter's sunny sunday stroll

FWIW, on leaders, I'm expecting AutomatedTeller and Luddite to grab FIN leaders for sure. AT liked FIN enough that I think he picked it in 34g.... Which for a 3CC seemed odd to me, so certainly he thinks it's uber enough that he'll go for it here where he doesn't have that limitation. Luddite also has wanted to leave Pyramids in this game because he think FIN can beat it. I think he's out to prove that, so he'll probably take a FIN leader as well. Between the two of these is also a part of what's driving me to do the opposite. Playing a game with 4/4 players as FIN sounds like the most boring game ever.

Sian on the other hand is trickier. He's much more fond of Pyramids. I lol'd at Commodore's "Mids Junior" name for him... Sian seemed to take offense to it, but I do know he's a big fan. So I think a lot of this will depend somewhat on what he takes... or if AT/Luddite surprise me. Also, I could very well see the start and dump all of this and go with something else, but it would take something pretty unusual to convince me to do so. We'll see.

It JUST now clicked with me that your team played with Isabella of Egypt in PBEM23, hence your comment here. That's funny lol. Now it kind of makes me want to go a different route so as to not repeat something that's been done. We'll see.

Well then. That's an Agri start if I've ever seen one. All of those foods are irrigated too which, yay. I'll be taking an Agri start for sure.

Is that desert tile W-NW supposed to be desert river, or is that supposed to be floodplains?

Other random thoughts:

1. Start seems to be engineered to start in place. Expansive gets the worker bonus of course.

2. This is a whip heaven capital.

3. Doesn't really change any of my plans. Mostly curious what spot in the pick order I'll get.

4. Interesting is the hilly/mountain ranges. There's pretty clearly one to the southwest - looks very tectonics-like. Tile bleeding suggets there's a bunch of hills to the east as well. We appear to be near the equaotor, so I'm going to give my way-too-early guess that there's a bunch of hilly "ranges" with fertile river valleys in between. Mist says we're cramped, so maybe a few chokepoints between the hills. The north is pretty clearly wide-open in terms of flatlands. The south seems to "close up" a tiny bit in that the hills get a little closer together in the south. Not sure what that means yet. More forests thataway too. Perhaps to give players a choice whether to settle south for production (forests/hills) or north for more floodplains first.

ALSO. Theme. I need help.

So I'd like something that sort of goes along with my thread title - to emphasize the "relaxed/chill/casual/etc" theme of the game. I thought about making a bunch of cities named after common phrases like "whatever" or "peace out" or "chill" or something, but that seems a tad too generic. So... any suggestions?

Ok, 3rd in the snake. Always felt first or last is best for this kind of game, but 2nd is probably worst so I can do with 3rd. Curious what Luddite will take first. I'm expecting AT to take BFA (best financial available) which is a pretty good choice looking at this start. This is definitely a fun start for a FIN leader. Still leaning towards grabbing Egypt at #3, but we'll see. I like to change my mind last minute. wink

Popular sunny vacation locations? Key West, Orlando, Bahamas, Hawaii...could go on for quite a while.

And this has the potential to be hilarious, so I really like this too. Um... Not sure which theme to go with.
