I added our roster to this thread's opening post. [strike]Nydaeli and naufragar have yet to check in here, though. (EDIT: I just reread the other thread.)[/strike]
So... Anybody have, like, a strategy or stuff? Personally I'd be fine with a relaxed cottage economy, aiming to develop in peace and steer clear of the "chase the leader" wars. Darrell's gameplan from PBEM17, basically. Does anybody want a particular role on the team? Darrell, are you turnplaying? I guess we need at least two potential turnplayers. Apart from turnplaying I don't know if we really need any other roles, but feel free to volunteer anyway. One exception: Diplo. Do we want to act on Zakalwe's excellent suggestion and send a special invite to Bob? ![]() (Here's a sample of his diplo skills: ) (I don't know if you've realized yet but clearly Darrell is just the figurehead of this ship.)
I have to run.
If you are going to have a figurehead for your ship, it might as well be a handsome one
. As for roles, now is a good time to speak up if you have any interests. Some ideas:Turnplayer - I can be the primary turnplayer, unless someone else wants the job. Foreign Minister - Ichabod? I love your style Spymaster - I'm trying to recruit rego to do our C&D. Anyone else interested? Micro plan - I like this area but realistically I'll be reviewing whatever novice and plako come up with. Macro plan - Everyone has to contribute here! I was thinking exactly PBEM17 style assuming we get the right leader. A part of me wants to deny Mack7 the Pyramids, just to see what they do. Darrell
I can do turnplaying in a pinch if I have clear instructions, but I think I am best kept as far away from where I can do real damage as possible. Limericks and inane comments are my forte.
Played in: PBEM 4 [Formerly Jowy's Peter of Egypt] | PBEM 10 [Napoleon of the Dutch] | PBEM 11 [Shaka of France] | EitB XVI [Valledia of the Amurites] | PB7 [Darius of Rome] | Diplomacy 3 [Austria-Hungary] | PBEMm/o vs AutomatedTeller
By the way, I don't really think we should be trolling as such, but keeping things light-hearted is obviously great. The Troll name was just me and Darrell doing a 20-second brainstorm on what Brazil, Darrell and Norway have in common. (OK, so I guess we're 2/3rds internet Trolls and 1/3rd mellow, stupid Trolls.
I have to run.

I have to run.

I want to look at Novice and Plako's micro plans and try to beat them. My biggest problem while playing is not being able to create goals to beat. I probably can't beat the goals Novice and Plako will set too, but at least I'll have an idea of what I need to accomplish.
I can try to do diplomacy, but be warned that my main problem with it is that I just don't do it. I always go like: "I should send a message to TEAM to negotiate a deal regading X". So I start drafting something like: "Hey TEAM, how are you? What about..." A few more words and I give up, thinking "Nah, it's not worth the effort". In other words, if you want me to do something, better use the whip. Otherwise I'll just lurk and spam this forum.
