[Spoilers] Pindicator Babbles On about Salad Tins

Heh, I didn't say you we're, that thought had just been in my head a while and the convo made me think of it.

What did I win? As CK2 has taught me fancy meaningless titles are the best!

In that case, I appoint you as Master of Meaningless Titles!

You get to bestow meaningless titles on all my cities (i.e. help me find a naming scheme)

Definitely surprised to see both Frederick and Lincoln taken. It's funny that all the economic civs are being taken despite the chance here to play with the new AGG and see just how well it stacks economically. Either that both Thoth and Commodore have a bulb strat in mind.

I don't think there was much chance Krill was going to take Frederick, so I wonder if Thoth should have picked a civ first?

City names should be... um.. Not really sure. Easiest Idea I can think of immediately is names of racetracks you can get for the Formula De board game which I've been starting to get into, but that might be a stretch and unfamiliar enough for you...

My original idea was naming my cities after (chess) gambits, but i'm on the fence about that. And you are correct: I have never heard of that game before, but i love the concept!

Babylon, Japan, Korea, and Japan to choose from. Unless you can give a compelling reason why i should do otherwide i am probably picking Babylon

More prickly archers to help defend a land grab empire from scary people? Make it so.

Also I think one of those Japan's was America, but unless we seek to spread the glory of Malls to everyone, not a bad thing to leave out.

There isn't a combination I'm not honestly afraid of.  A few are a little scarier than others: Boudicea of Celts, Frederick of Persia (although more because Persia is the only civ that I need to worry about with my UU), Krill.  This has the appearance of a game that is going to see a lot of war, and going to see it early in order to turn that into a later advantage.  The non-AGG teams need to be doubly vigilant as they will look like low-hanging fruit for the AGG neighbors.  This is going to be a bloody game, the type of game I would expect Commodore to do well in.  Except he picked the most pacifist combination out of all of us.

The only question I have about picks is why Krill chose Russia over Germany: UU & UB both come a lot later in the tech tree for Russia, but maybe he specifically wants to play with Cossacks?

I did some calculations, and unless something amazing shows up under the fog it looks like tech speed is going to be a big constraint at the beginning.  I think we want to go Hunting (9) -> Mining (17) -> Bronze Working (30) -> Pottery / Archery.  Production would go Worker (14) -> Warrior (24) -> Warrior until growth to size 4 (26) -> Settler, whipped for 2 pop (31).  And we have to work bare riverside plains tiles in order to get BW that early.  Persia was a stronger option than i first thought, just for saving turns on early tech.
