still exploring. I'm way at the bottom of the score list now - someone got BW - one of the fishing civs civs, no doubt. I'll catch up researching fishing instead of agri. Presumably, that's the civ who built the WB - they'll whip it out and then pick up a worker which they research Agri. Probably the way I'd do it if I had picked a fishing civ.
More wierd tiles - grassland elephant hill. Plus, a lot of forested calendar resources - banana (on grass and plains) and sugar (on grass) .
Some pics later - I'll set up an early micro plan for once Walter White is born.

Well, that's a surprise. Got BW after hitting end turn and found copper... under my cap. My micro is completely screwed up now

Ok - couple of pics:
Really boring shot of city my city after Walter White is born and starts farming the wheat.
less boring one of the known world:
I'm not sure, but I think I'm barely making out borders to my scout's NW. That said, i don't think I can go there and get back fast enough to do all the scouting I want to do.
I think I can get a workboat, 2 warriors, a worker and a settler out in the next 15 turns or so (warrior 3 turns, 1 turn worker, 1 turn WB, whip WB, overflowinto worker, grow with 2nd warrior, chop/mine into the worker, slow build the settler at size 3)
I can get fishing, wheel and pottery by then. The question is where do i want to put my 2nd city? I was thinking for the deer, but that means hunting and hunting means I can't build warriors anymore and it's too early to need to get axes up. We dont' start getting warriors until turn 23, which is about when we'll get city #2 out and we won't get archers for some time. If I do go to the deer, I might be ok, since the river doesn't hook up to the salt water there - I could maybe build warriors in the deer city for a couple of turns.
I need to do some sims, but with a PH, maybe it's better to go there and put a WB down.
A is where my scout is now. I've shown, tentatively, where it can be on various turns - it won't be that fast - there's a lot of jungle out there.
The Yellow and Orange circles are where city #2 could be for the fish. Orange is a turn closer plus gets the clam - yellow doesn't burn a forest. Orange is probably better - hooks up to the city faster, too, plus I overlap on a cottage site and can share the gems.
black numbers are where my first warrior can be on the given turn. I'm actually thinking maybe it should take a wider turn - follow the 18-9-20-21 path before swinging around - I should be able to get over to the deer before the settler is ready in any case and see if I want to go there.

running a sim, I can get a city up on turn 27 by the fish and chop into a wb that will finish just about the time we grow. Thta's a 6-0-3 tiles, as opposed to a 5-0-1 tile, which is stronger, though it's available several turns later. But still, the extra food and being able to ignore hunting isn't nothing.
I can get fishing, wheel, pottery, AH and mysticism by then, too - if I can get med or poly, I can get an expansion there, whip out a second WB. One nice thing abotu it is that it gets me closer to the ivory.
I'm leaning towards the fish site now.

Well, if I do the fish site, there's no real point in building a 2nd worker right off - I'd get the city up and running faster with going warrior/WB/Warrior/Settler, since I won't be improving a tile before I get the city out.
So, build order is:
Warrior
WB
Warrior
Settler
Worker
Warrior
Settler
With city #3 going for the deer, perhaps.
My guess is that I can get a city up by turn 18 or so with that build order, though it won't be connected (no worker turns for roads), which gives me more time to explore.
That's probably better than a city on turn 25.

turn 10:
Found sugar. And it looks like what we have for water is a bunch of 1 tile lakes (all of which have forests or seafood) and bodies just large enough to be salt water. What are the rules for being able to build naval units? I think you need a certain number of water tiles.
Organized gets a nice boost here, as lighthouses will definitely be useful. Collosus is very nice and oracle->MC seems like a good path. Particulary as cho-ko-nu will make me a poor target for invasion.
Plan is to place city #2 on the red circle (at least right now)

thx.
I'm wondering if we have big enough seas to need to worry about galleys...

So, I'm guessing the answer to that is yes:
That looks like a 1 tile island there, which strongly implies that we can build galleys on this sea. So, navy is useful.
in other news, TT and CH have grown to size 2 and everyone besides me has researched 2 techs.

Turn 12:
Ahh - early in the game, when demos fluctuate wildly... I will quickly drop out of first, once I whip the WB...
1 turn into a WB, overflow into a settler, then back to growth on a 2nd warrior which will go up to the PH site. Walter White goes to chopmine the grass hill. After that, he'll mine/road the gems, then road to the new city. We'll build Jesse Pinkman then.
Tech path, right now, is Wheel->Pottery->Mysticism->meditation->Priesthood, probably hunting for the deer after that .
