[spoilers] Commodore's Subbing Stubbies' Common Odor

Myconoids are like regular Beastmasters, except they also come with an ability which is the equivalent of Blinding Light, handy when you can't build Mages and don't otherwise get much out of the Empyrean. Dwarven Shadows have permanent invisibility, hit like trains, have the Marksman ability & do collateral damage. The main issue with the former is that you don't get Rangers, so teching to them is pretty painful, while the latter are at a very expensive late-game tech and require following Esus (although buffed EitB Esus has decent synergy with the Khazad).

Huh. Well I'm none to impressed with the potential dotmap here in the southwest; that lake is worth a fair bit o' food.

Only get one more city before I run a culture turn, so need to figure out how to get gems in and efficiently manage that crucial pop...

I believe Suttree is off the grid for quite some time. However long it takes to wage a one-man war on a shadowy government agency, that's how long he'll be. He's welcome to the game when he comes back, but that kind of thing changes a man.

I'll at least be able to console myself with beer now.

It's like RAAAAAAAAIN, on your wedding day,
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
And who would've thought, it figures...
...like getting an event that completes Drama for you two turns after someone else (Ellimist, Kurios) gets it. rant

Less ironic even still in the dictionary sense but probably still ironic enough to qualify for a Canadian pop singer is this barb city: Nice and hardly defended at all, but orphans a lovely fish. frown I'd take a swing at it, but I'm not sure if its worth keeping...

I love events. Always so interesting, the things they do. In this case, I got a good 28 gold in my bank! Yeah!

Down around the barbarian/Odio area, I popped an archer with Superdwarf the Warrior and scouted out the edges of a Kurio city. He's not fired his worldspell yet so far as I know, so he'll own those floodplains soon enough. frown Why can't I make pikes? Pikes seem very dwarfy, and would be lovely against centaurs.

At the end of turn, things are looking up locally. Beard will use cotton and a carnival to quickly hit a halfway respectable size in time for all the food to diminish into Aristocracy. Then of course it'll abuse the -40% distance maint by pumping out muchas more settlers.

Because seriously, screw vaults.

Apparently, there is an African-American fortress out there, protected by rabbinical creations?

Soul Patch founded, dropping the ETA of Code of Laws by a turn and raising costs by less than a market's worth. I think Aristo will break even at 100%, actually, until of course I fill in the next 8-9 dots on the map. Of course, more workers are needed as well...

Cotton comes online next turn, not only providing extra happy but enabling Soul Patch to make a crucial 5 commerce per turn; so next turn I pop a quick turn of 100% culture to get second ring on all cities. These buggers need it.

This turn, I made my cities very happy. After all, a wise man said, only a fool would run an empire without luxuries, king.

I actually didn't need more than 80% thanks to the Religion civic. So hit end turn, and...

It's been ten turns since takeover; I'm keeping a record of the Empire of Facial Hair's progress on the first page. nod
