If that's the case you'll want to update the civilopedia then, because it is described as "+4 beakers/city".

I think it's nice to buff the summoner trait. I think +1-2 bpt would be a good thing. In all cities that is. Or leave it at +5 btp in the capital. Summoner is rally underwhelming after all.
I had problems with planar gates, does summoner let you build them faster, or does it double the spawn rate?

Build them faster. I'm struggling with the implementation of the +4bpt flat, but I'd rather that then a potentially-broken empire wide boost. If I can't solve it, I'll probably leave it as +1bpcpt for the next release though.

Would it be possible to make it a palace bonus?

+5 beakers per turn in the capital sounds crazy to me: it completely changes the balance of the beginning of the game, making Summoner leaders tech at 150% speed. Sounds quite a bit better than +1 beaker per city; it's better in raw numbers until the game is halfway over, and beakers early > beakers late because of snowball effects.

For comparison: it's almost as good as getting a free settled great person at the start of the game. That's huge!

I think +1 beaker/city wouldn't be too overpowering of a trait, but I don't think it makes sense for Summoner (there's already a trait that's supposed to give research boosts: Philosophical, via discounts on Elder Councils and Libraries). Summoner should be about summoning things.

Agreed. Giving Twincast to all adepts/mages would be ludicrously overpowered, but what about a spell that would give temporary Twincast (kind of like spellstaff)? So, a Summoner could summon two beasties every other turn: no more total beasties than the other guys, but overwhelming force can be pretty useful in the right circumstances.

That's a good idea, although it's kind of edging into the Wizard's gimmick.

Or, what if all summoner arcane spellcasters got Spell Extension I for free?

nice one there.
but would it be powerful enough ?
maybe summons could get a free promotion ?
or summons give a few of their xp to caster ? (magister does this with dimensional magic so it might be codable... even if it it may be unpractical)

Unfortunately no, there is a lot of issues how to work this (it probably requires creating a proxy building implemented by an event on city settling which gives +4bpt).
